He is Risen
#1
This of course is resurrection Sunday, 'the first day of the week.'

Mark 16:1-2 (KJV)
1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

Prior to recent events, Christ had boldly predicted His own crucifixion and resurrection. Remembering this and fearing that His followers could steal the body of Christ and falsely claim He had risen. The Church leaders of Jerusalem pled with Pontius Pilate, the Roman Governor of Jerusalem, to put "a guard" over the tomb until after the Sabbath. Consequently Pilate ordered upwards of 50 soldiers, "a guard" to stand guard over the tomb of Jesus until after the Sabbath Day passed. In the meantime a 'great stone' had been rolled in to seal the doorway of the tomb upon which in turn, was affixed the Seal of Caesar. It is noteworthy to mention the fact that should the guards fail to carry out their charge, it meant their lives. So we can be assured that 50 of the most formidable soldiers alive at the time, were deadly serious. Heaven help anybody who tried to get to that tomb. And there would be no help for anybody who might have, against all odds, been able to break the Seal of Caesar. And surely nobody could have gotten to that tomb had not God caused a sleep to come over those guards. And later when it became obvious that the stone was rolled away and the tomb empty, they undoubtedly thought it was their end.

But as the unthinkable (for the enemies of Christ) had happened, the women unawares of all this were approaching the tomb and wondering how they would get in to prepare the Lord's body with embalming spices, as was the custom of the day...

Mark 16:3-6 (KJV)
3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?
4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.
6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

And we who believe that He is risen shall be with Him. This is the blessed hope.

1 Peter 1:3 (KJV)
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Those who have come to grips with those truths as listed above, are truly born again unto life eternal and, to understanding. Their hearts are from that point forward, illuminated through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Hebrews 10:31-32 (KJV)
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;

The mystery and work of salvation does not end there however, that is but the beginning because illuminated too, is the mind. Thus one of the great gifts of a right relationship with our Lord other than eternal life is understanding. And do we ever need that in today's world!
1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV)
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Thus the greatest of thinkers across time without Christ, have only a part of reality. Stephen Hawking (a man who studied light) comes to mind, and his contentions that aliens are real and God is a fiction.
John 8:12 (KJV)
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

All truth is of God and as such is unseparable, Spiritual light and secular light.

HAPPY EASTER!!

Another year and we find ourselves once again celebrating the birth of Christ and with that, the promise of eternal life through acceptance of His unspeakable gift.

With each passing year comes a noticeable slide in America's national stability and this year is certainly no exception. Incredibly, the state of affairs here in this land are even more profoundly out of whack than at this time last year. God help us to realize that no matter what the situation, man's only hope is in Jesus Christ. May the blessings of this season of rebirth bring about that realization in sweeping fashion. And thanks be to God that the real truth can be known through a personal relationship with Him.

Happy Easter 2022!

Wow, is it possible that three years have passed since I last posted in this thread? What with the COVID pandemic and political and social upheavals of the the last couple of years, the time has just shot by. And of course if I thought things were profoundly out of whack on April 21st of 2019, the events of the past 15 months almost make 2019 seem like the good old days.

But that is the way the Bible says things will go down towards the end. The exponential disappearance of all that makes sense is upon us. God has sent strong delusion to take the place of common sense ---
2 Thessalonians 2:9-12
9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might    be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

'THE LIE' of course, is men choosing to think they can turn their backs on Him and work the out affairs of this world on their own. From this comes such foolishness as is routinely heard on the 24/7 news loop; such as men thinking up the false notion which is global warming. And then they suppose they can fix a problem that doesn't even exist using wait for it,--- science. The full list of equally destructive nonsense in the form of foreign and domestic policy would be too lengthy to put up here.

The speed at which the lunacies are being both hatched and widely supported since 2019's 'noticeable slide';  has become more like a not-so-thrilling ride on The Beast at King's Island. This world is judged and thus things will only get much worse as the end grows near.

So thanks be to God that He is Risen! Through His resurrection we know we who believe can look forward to eternal life with Him.
