Going to do mine in a few different posts with different themes. 2 types of concerts for me, the ones drunk with my buddies/girlfriends back in the day and the ones with my baby girl (drinking diet sodas) who is a big time daddy's girl...
Back in the day:
Kiss - Rupp Arena
Rolling Stones twice in a month in Rupp Arena and Freedom Hall in Louisville.
AC/DC in Rupp - Like Van H I am a Bon Scott guy all the way and was shocked by how great the Rupp concert turned out to be.
Aerosmith, Bob Seger/Silver Bullet Band, Bruce Springsteen in Rupp and beyond
Ted Nugent in Rupp
Jimmy Buffett in Palace Theater in Louisville when he first got famous...now I've heard enough Buffett for 4 lifetimes lol...
Back in the day:
Kiss - Rupp Arena

Favorite concerts with the baby girl:
Elton John 2/27/15 US Bank Arena in Cincy. Sat about 20 feet from EJ at the piano at eye level. Probably favorite concert ever, 1st with my baby girl.
Eagles in Rupp Arena 4/10/17 - Deacon Frey sang, Vince Gill joined the band/sang also, great concert.
Tom Petty/Joe Walsh in Cincy US Bank Arena 6/12/17 Great concert, then Tom Petty tragically died less than 4 month later.
Pretenders 7/3/18 Palace Theater, Louisville. Fantastic concert.

Best concert I wasn't at:
12/12/12 concert at Madison Square Garden. Watched it with my girls on TV an we were all blown away at how good it was.

My first concert was a Merle Hagard/ Lee Greenwood/ George Jones show at Rupp. I've been to about four Merle concerts with three at Rupp with various different singers. One concert was at Tombstone Junction in fall 1991. Merle was my favorite country singer. Just mellow and laid back beer sipping music.
My favorite was the first Lynyrd Skynyrd revamp in the late 80's at Rupp. We NEVER sat down once the show started.
My second favorite was AC/DC (my favorite rock band) at Rupp with the Thunderstruck tour. I still have an Angus Dollar or two we caught at that one during Money Talks.
I've seen also at Rupp:
Whitesnake
Aerosmith - girls behind me screaming in my ear put a damper on that one.
Hank Williams Junior - three times with one of the better and two of the worst concerts I attended. He'd get too drunk.
I bought tickets to see Poison in the winter of 1989 and was going with my future wife, her roommate and one of my best friends. I paid for them all and was working third shifts in a factory and going to school full time and was just too tired to go. I gave the ticket to another good friend and they all went. Said it was a blast.
I went to a Kentucky Headhunters concert at Tombstone junction in the early nineties as well. That was a good time.
I've not gone to a concert since the mid nineties though.

Let's go with my Top 7 Concerts:
1) Metallica w/ Godsmack (Apr 2004 Louisville - Freedom Hall) Since Metallica is my favorite band of all time, I have to put one of their shows at number one. Even though I have seen them several times, this was my first. The acoustics in old Freedom Hall were excellent, and we ended up sitting about 3 rows away from the stage. Getting to see another great band in Godsmack was the cherry on top.
2) Guns N Roses (July 2016 Cincinnati - Paul Brown Stadium) GNR was always one of my favorites, and I honestly figured I would never get to see them together in person. But there they were: Axl, Slash, and Duff had buried the hatchet and sounded great. The acoustics in a football stadium were surprisingly good as well.
3) Dream Theater (May 2008 Columbus - Lifestyle Pavilion) This is a band that is not widely known, but I would consider them the best collection of rock musicians in one group anywhere. Portnoy, Mangini, Petrucci, Rudess, Myung are all considered to be among the top at their respective instruments, and if you see them in person you will leave amazed. This was my first time of many seeing them.
4) Disciple (Feb 2013 Cincinnati - Underground) My favorite Christian band, these guys are also not well-known, but they have been around since the 90's. They always put on a great live show, and the Underground is a cool venue to see a concert in. I have probably seen them in person more than any other band.
5) Alice in Chains (May 2014 Cincinnati - Horseshoe Casino) Never got to see them when Layne was their frontman, and it's always hard to replace the singer in a band. But the new guy meshes really well with the rest of the members. I have seen them multiple times as well.
6) Motley Crue w/ Alice Cooper (Oct 2015 Lexington - Rupp Arena) This was their "farewell tour", although I think we all knew they would end up touring again some time later. Still, even though I have seen them a few times, getting Alice Cooper as an opener lands this show on the list.
7) Aerosmith (Feb 1998 Lexington - Rupp Arena) This show has special meaning as it was my first major arena rock concert. The guys sounded great in a packed-out Rupp Arena.
