I hope my names are correct because at the time the sports section and this newspaper were ranked as a top 25 paper in the USA.

Jimmy Fudd Parsons was a new name i had not heard. In 1985 he scored 8 points at Sheldon Clark region. 8 points for Betsy Layne in the district. Also scoring for him in back to back home games he scored 10 on a friday and then 16 on a saturday. Pete Grigsby III put up videos of his team playing in the 82 seasons with home and away games. Also the 71 team in state tournament at Freedom Hall. I road a bus to Ezel High school in 74. Keith Henry scored 18 points in the 61st district his senior year, then his school merged into Morgan County. Coach Turner 87-88 team was one of my favorites to watch play. At the start of the 87 season McDowell played at Oneida Baptist, because non football playing teams could open their season on Friday November 15th. I remember reading Ed Taylor sports column. Steve Smith the 1972 second team all-state center for McDowell would he have been the best left handed center to play in the 15th? Pete Grigsby had Louisville Shawnee travel to McDowell in 1975. I found scoring for Phil Page with 40.

That was a really good team Sheldon Clark had that year. I believe that was the last time they qualified for the Sweet Sixteen until this year, not sure? Probably the two best recruiting classes they've had in a long time that year and this year.
