A talented left handed scorer for his team in Inez. John scored 27 and 20 points in the district as winners. He scored 23 in first round of Clay County Invitational. His 10 points in the first round of the region in tough one point loss in overtime. John was second team all state and All Mountain Senior Team player.

He was really good at Alice Lloyd College after high school.
