The Biden campaign has spent 8 million dollars so far, all on negative Trump ads. Meanwhile imagining that the campaign trail somehow goes through his own basement, everything Biden actually has said by way of live comment, have been only more negatives about DJT. So looking at it from a certain perspective, all Biden has to talk about is President Trump, and most of what President Trump has to talk about is ... President Trump. Not exactly brilliant strategizing IMHO.
But running on his record is completely out of the question, so take the fight to a venue where the footing is more equal. There you can just make stuff up. Obama did exactly that with Romney and you can bet Joe will try to do the same thing with Trump. As I have said there isn't enough time for another Democrat fabricated investigation, nor do the people have near enough patience to tolerate another sham impeachment led by old bug eyes. That leaves only one thing; The press and Biden are going to have to pin their hopes on mischaracterizing the Administration's response to the coronavirus pandemic. It's all they've got.

Of course, in launching the coronavirus strategy one must presuppose that the Trump Administration would fall short, and throw up a weak kneed response on the order of the one offered by Mitt Romney. Never happen. MR Trump will force the Biden campaign to prove their charges. And in the meantime a lot of information regarding "the resistance"has come to light and there is a lot more to come. The Dems are putting up a united front in trying to keep the US shut down. And as always, there is method in their madness. If Joe has to come up out of the basement, and if the people have to go to the polls to vote, and if the nation regains it's pre-coronavirus footing, there is no way I can see that Biden has much of chance of winning. That's the reason the Dems are all on the same page with the CV shutdown.
No, it's coronavirus or nothing. And you can bet things we are about to see coming out of the left are only going to get even more outrageous and weird.
