Songs With Numbers in the Title - What Are Some of Your Favorites?
#1
I'm a numbers guy so here goes.  What are some of your favorite tunes with numbers in the title of the song. I'll start with one of my favorites - a  song from 1969 by Zagar and Evans .  Scary a$$ song, but I love it.

One of my favorites from the bicentennial year.  The Legend- Mr. Frankie Valli.  In this song, the drummer, Gerri Polci,  actually sings lead .

Here is a twofer, a number in the song title by a band whose name includes a number.

One Is The Loneliest Number - Three Dog Night

I was thinking about that one a couple nights ago, Hoot. Good one.  I saw TDN  about ten years ago and really enjoyed their show, even though it was cut short by a severe thunderstorm and a torrent of rain.  I kid you not , they had just begun to  sing:

"Wash away my troubles
Wash away my pain
With the rain in Shambala
Wash away my sorrow
Wash away my shame
With the rain in Shambala"

when the skies opened up and released a sustained  torrent of rain like I hadn't seen before or since.  The band played as long as they could without endangering their lives due to the rain and lightning, but finally had to end the show.

Probably a phone number that most of us guys who grew up in the seventies and early eighties tried to call at least once hoping Jenny would answer:

867 - 5309

How about a number song AND a story song :

HEY NINETEEN   by   Steely Dan.   Takes me back to high school.

Way back when in sixty seven
I was the dandy
Of Gamma Chi
Sweet things from Boston
So young and willing
Moved down to Scarsdale
And where the hell am I

Hey nineteen
No we can't dance together
No we can't talk at all
Please take me along
When you slide on down...

I always liked Paul Davis(RIP) ... Had a nice string of pop songs, including this one:

Written as a tribute to George Lucas' film THX 1138  , here's  TOTO   with    "99."  The video , with everyone wearing white, is reminiscent of a scene in the movie.  Takes me back to my senior year in high school.

Beautiful song IMO

New York Mining Disaster 1941

I keep straining my ears to hear a sound.
Maybe someone is digging underground,
Or have they given up and all gone home to bed,
Thinking those who once existed must be dead.

Have you seen my wife, Mr. Jones?
Do you know what it's like on the outside?
Don't go talking too loud, you'll cause a landslide, Mr. Jones.
