Siena College Research Institute Survey of U.S. Presidents Ranking from 1 to 44
#1
As of 2018,   Donald Trump was not the worst president in history just yet. He was third worst according Siena College Research Institute's Survey of U.S. Presidents.  Of course, after 2018, he was able to add to his resume:  two impeachments, COVID failure, and inciting an attempted government coup.

SCRI consists of  historians, presidential scholars,  and political scientists ( no catturd). They have done six of these surveys beginning in 1982.  They do the survey during the second year of the new president's first term . Thankfully, for Trump , this ranking was done before his record two impeachments, the deaths due to his willful negligence dealing with COVID, and his attempt to overthrow the current regime by inciting a violent and deadly  insurrection of the U.S. Capitol.  He will no doubt fall to the very bottom of the list when the new survey comes out in 2022.

Who would you rank as our very best and very worst presidents in U.S. history?   It's clear to this follower of politics for six decades that Mr. Trump is in a class all by himself as the worst that American history has ever born witness to. I wonder if our conservative friends on here will at least be intellectually honest enough to admit that much. Trump likes the idea of his mug being added to Mt. Rushmore. I think we could find a more appropriate place to have Donald's face chisled. Whiskey Dick Mountain in Washington state , Mistake Peaks in Antarctica. or Jackass Pass in Wyoming would all do just fine.

Btw,  SCRI  uses 20 different categories as the criteria for their  rankings, ranging from integrity to ability to compromise. Trump scored in the bottom five in 18 of the 20 categories.  His highest ranking in any category was 10th in a category entitled "LUCK."  Special congratulations to those who voted for this menace to democracy not once, but twice. Thanks a bunch !

Here's the top five and bottom five, according to SCRI's  2018  survey:

1. Washington
2.  F. Roosevelt(was #1 in all previous rankings)
3.  Lincoln
4. T. Roosevelt
5.  Jefferson

40. Pierce
41. Harding
42. Trump( impeachments,  COVID failures,  inciting insurrection not included in this survey)
43. Buchanan
44. A, Johnson

For those who wouldn't rank The Donald last, where would you rank him ?

Dear leader would be #46(Worst ever)
Bush Jr.
Reagan(started all the debt) and killed the middle class
But Dear Leader has to be the worst record speaks for itself
No jobs added that's a first
535,000 americans dead
Lost White House, Senate, and the House all in 2 years hasn't happened since Hoover
Attempted overthrow of the government hasn't happened since civil war

Also added over 8 trillion o the debt in 4 years that is also a first
So i guess the Dear Leader is first in a lot of things just not the good things

Certainly an impressive worst-ever resume  you listed there, vector.  Trump voters ought to be mighty proud considering how these presidential historians and scholars rate their hero.

Btw, Donald  was dead last in the following categories:

INTEGRITY

INTELLIGENCE

OVERALL ABILITY

EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS

The only category in which he ranked in the top ten was one entitled "LUCK."

Good job, GOP.

It's interesting how history has a way of judging a president more favorably with the passage of several decades of time. Jimmy Carter is now 26th overall. For the years after his presidency James Earl Carter, the peanut farmer from Plains, was usually in the bottom five. Forty years later,  he doesn't look so bad at all. Same for Nixon- once right near the bottom , he is now 29th.

Others of note:

Reagan = 13
Clinton=   15
Obama = 17
George H.W = 21
George W.   = 33
