Joel Baden: The Bible Doesn't Say What You Think it Does
#1
Brilliant twenty minute lecture from a professor of Hebrew Bible.  Most people use the Bible as a prop for what they want it to say. Most really have very little idea what the book actually says.   You can see that from  two or three  Biblical "scholars on most any board similar to this one. They really need to watch and learn.

^^^As opposed to a magic big bang from nothingness. Stick with astrology. Hope you have a great horoscope tomorrow!

> The Bible is God's WordAnd though fools and intellectuals may speak out against the Lord, the Lord surely does not speak in ways meant to cater only to those who are professors or intellectuals. In fact according to God, His Word is only to be understood by those who 'diligently seek Him.'

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that he is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." ... - Hebrews 11:6.

> Further, the unsaved man or 'natural man' cannot understand the Bible no matter how smart he may be.

"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." ... -1 Corinthians 2:14

> Further having the faith to believe, just happens to be ---  "THE gift of God."  Faith is unattainable by any other means than the following:

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God" — Ephesians 2:8

You Old School Hound, would rather spend your whole life dodging the truth than believing the truth. Why? Because to believe the truth would mean you would have admit to yourself that one day in the not so distant future, you will face God at the Judgment. I guess that way just seems easier to you. But as I have pointed out, almost everybody winds up on the wrong road in this life.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."  --- Matthew 7:13-14

Just do what your conscience used to nag you about and face reality. Jet is right in what he says. According to you, the scientific answer is for our presence in this impossibly vast and complex universe is as follows. Once upon a time back in impossibly long aeons past, there was nothing. No heat, no light, no energy of any kind: no substance and therefore no movement. No dimensions, no life and no building blocks of life. There was however, a big rock rock floating which evidently materialized out of the vast void of nothingness.

This rock exploded and viola, here we are! Do I have that about right? Ironically there was a Rock from which the universe, along with all the governing natural laws from which all life sprang forth. The Rock of Ages, Christ Jesus the Son of the Living God Who "Made everything which was made" and before Whom "Every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord."

You can deny all of this Old School Hound, but you cannot craft your own reality. You can only fool yourself for the present. A present which will last only as long as a breath of vapor on a cold morning, and then the judgment.
