I believe that the FBI knew that Sussman was lying. Mueller tried to trap Flynn after his investigation had already learned that the allegations of Russian collusion were a hoax. In the case of Sussman, he lied to the FBI to protect Clinton and the DNC but Comey didn't care because he was a party to the hoax and accepting Sussman's lie at face value was a part of the cover-up.

Mueller completed his investigation and Trump did not interfere in the investigation. Trump fired Comey because he is a liar and a crook.

DJT advisors and Russian collusion was not a hoax.  Nothing being done exonerates the crooks Trump sent to do his dirty work. Maybe they couldn't pin it on Trump, but when you think of it the mob bosses never go to prison over the dead bodies, it's always the underlings.

There was no evidence of Trump colluding with the Russians, a Special Counsel with a large team of partisan Democrat investigators and attorneys could find no evidence of collusion, the lawyer who pushed the fictional Steele Report, which was prepared for Hillary Clinton, to the FBI has been indicted for hiding the fact that he was billing his work to the Clinton Foundation and the DNC - but Cardfan1 believes that Trump is guilty of collusion because some mob bosses never go to prison.
