Some number 1 seed will have a tough draw in the first round.

Disagree. This is not your typical LC team. Worst LC team I’ve seen maybe ever. This isn’t that big of an upset

While I agree, Lawrence County lost a ton from last year and started a little slow this year but they have been playing better. This Lawrence County team may not have the same talent has some of the teams in years past. But I guarantee you this, no number one seed wants to see Lawrence County as their first round opponent next week.

Congrats to Floyd Central

All 4 district runners up are capable of winning 1st round games...

This is an upset, plain and simple. Lawrence was the better team, but just like the year has went for them, very inconsistent and disciplined on defense and at the plate. The region is wide open, anyone can win it.

I think your 100% correct. Lawrence County, Belfry, Johnson Central, and Shelby Valley are all solid teams that can string enough wins together to win region. I’d wager if you’d ask the 4 district winning coaches most would say Lawrence County is the team they’d least want to see in the first round.

It helps having a graduate of the school call behind the plate both games.

Not going to post names but the plate umpire for both FC games graduated from South Floyd.
