Glasgow 22 Somerset 21
#1
Final

I felt as if Somerset would pull out a victory, but this is certainly the logical outcome. Congratulations to two great teams!

By the updates it seemed like both team’s defenses were fantastic but just finally got tired in the 4th. From there it was just whoever had the ball last. After tonight I think Somerset is clearly the best of the rest after the big 4 in 2A. Tremendous job by Clevenger in year 1. Never count out the Scotties in the playoffs either. They always seem to turn it up a notch in the postseason.

Glasgow never lead the game. :52 seconds Glasgow scores got the 2 pt conversion. Somerset had a shot to win it, but mis communication on the route in the endzone, game over. It was a defensive battle up to the last few minutes.

Was it legal for Glasgow to have 12 men on the field after a time out as they lined up for their final score then run one RB off as the team got into their formation? At least one lineman was already down in his stance with 12 on the field. QB turned and told one RB to get off the field.

After the TO 12 Glasgow players walked onto the field together. The team started to lineup in their formation with 12 player with one extra RB kind of hanging to the back and side of the formation. The right side of into their stance while the other RBs sent this extra RB off of the field. About 6 seconds later the ball was snapped. Legal?

The game is on YouTube on the Lake Cumberland Sports channel. The play occurs at 2:45:42 in the video.

That would definitely would have changed everything on the 2 pt conversion . Somerset missed a chip shot field goal just before halftime if they would have made it that 12 man on the field would have been moot. Would like to have won this one but maybe it will get them re focused. Somerset has proven that they can run the ball and have pretty good D . Their entire D line are sophomores and big part of the O line is really young too they should be really good going forward. A lot of people at Somerset felt like before the season that this would be clevenger worst team not saying they are bad they are pretty good but he is going to have good talent coming up and he is going to be really good in the years to come.
