Not trying to be negative towards Douglas, but you probably could take Sayres coaching staff and win at Douglas with some effort, it's not hard to see why they are successful, with their built-in advantages, ......and yes McPeak is a good coach, and they do a great job over there.  16th sometimes I think you give out too much information on Douglas that the Coaching staff probably would rather keep in house. Could be wrong.
Wanting to win and actually putting in the work to win are two different things. You can look around and see plenty of coaches putting in half effort. There are coaches out there that disappear after season and don’t show back up till summer.  Some have no interest in the weigh program. Some don’t stay in contact with their athletes. Some don’t check grades. Don’t assume every staff has the same level if commitment.
.....or talent, or facilities, or administration that really cares about football to let you do things to be successful, so you should never assume these things either.

Who don’t want a coaching staff that is as committed as the athletes.  Its amazing how many coaches choose to coach but never commit to the effort.
Please elaborate on their build in advantages.
2 schools on one campus, they have a program that can get you into the school and if you drop the program, you still can stay at the school (could be like this at other FCPS) multiple kids that live out of district, Fieldhouse, state of art weight room that no other Fayette County public school has. Multiple QB's that were brought in and left and went back to their original school to graduate after the season. Administration that was hired to have a successful football program. Got to hire coaches that was at one time banned from Coaching in Kentucky, got more but I'm going to stop because it seems like I am hating on Douglas which I'm not trying to I actually like their program, but a question was asked.

Going to back track on the banned part, but I'm pretty sure at one time that might have been the case.

Correct Carter G is in the building - Douglass nor Carter G staff control who applies and gets in, that is handled by the district - the narrative that Douglass just funnels kids in that program is a FALSE narrative.
If you are kicked out of Carter G you can stay at Douglass -  false narrative. you can stay ONLY IF YOU LIVE IN THE DISTRICT.
Every school in FCPS has students approved out of district. Not a Douglass thing.
The weight room was designed and built upon opening. I would counter that every other school has a weight room and a sperate facility used for hitting and other things. Douglass is the only school in FCPS without one. I assure you the coaches would trade their Fieldhouse with about anyone in town if they were to also get a second "hitting facility". lockers are terrible and the big empty hotbox serves very little purpose. (it does look good though) .
Transfers - everyone has them come and go. There is another team in town who had a kid start in one sport for them in the fall and go back to original school and start in another sport as soon as season ended- again not a Douglass thing
Administration was hired to have a successful football program - false narrative. Not saying athletics are not important to them but if you knew anything about FCPS athletics you would laugh at that statement. The fact that they are two former football coaches drives this narrative.
coach hired was banned from coaching in ky. - False narrative.

Very well said at FCPS.
I will add one thing without calling out a program or coach like others on here want to do towards Douglass, but their is another school in central KY whose head football coach has actually went into 2 8th graders homes that live in the Douglass district and talked/recruited them to come to his school/program. These two parents informed the Douglass coaches on Sunday evening after their 8th grade signing day for kids that their kids based on what this coach told/promised were going to transfer to that district in another county.
Hey if that is what they want then fine. It just that several on here want to lead people to believe that no other schools in KY get kids to come to their school but Douglass. Also, Douglass has a player that moved to Douglass this year after a huge season a Taylor Co. and another coach for a Lexington program has called this players house several times to try and get him to switch to their program.
I would hate to see what people would write if the Douglass coach went into 8th graders home in another and county and tried to get them to come to their program. I guess that it is a benefit to have had the success that the Bronco Program has had and especially in the area of getting players college scholarships that players/parents want to play for Douglass.

From Frederick Douglass Football:

Great effort today for Frederick Douglass Football 2024 spring combine special shout out to @coachwts @coachjoelwardle for getting laser timer ready! @ArenaGear thanks for the great tool! Congratulations to Elijah Ward running sub 4.3 and Peyton Smith 4.34 at over 200 lbs.
Thanks, but wasn't talking about Carter G. you just assumed. I was talking about the aerospace program or something like that. If you applied to get into Douglas via that program from out of district and you dropped out you can still stay at FD. .....and I know some of those are not false narrative but going to leave well enough alone. Think that school you mentioned at the beginning school colors are black and gold, do not understand how they get away with the stuff they do either, but these are the times I guest.
