Was in and out of this one, but Campbell County holds on after taking an 11 point advantage with 2:00 remaining in the third quarter. From there, they let GRC claw back and cut it to five with about two and a half minutes remaining in regulation and the Cards had some real momentum.
Thought Campbell tightened up a bit late. They had some long scoring droughts, but a timely three and stop were followed up with another timely basket after GRC had made a three from the corner and took a timeout with around 1:50 remaining. After that, Campbell was able to burn some time before GRC started fouling (the Cards had three team fouls coming out of the break). From there, the foul game commenced and Campbell was comfortable enough at the line to give us the final margin.
Trailing by 7 and then 5, GRC was in a position where they had enough time to make the comeback, but just seemed to be unable to get the basket or stop that would get them over the hump.
With Mason County and GRC bowing out in the semis, it will be Harrison County and Campbell County for the 10th Region Championship tomorrow night in Maysville.

Didn’t GRC point guard have a season ending injury a couple games ago. Not taking nothing away from Campbell county but it just wasn’t in the cards this year for GRC.

whom actually lives in Paris and should have been playing there. But this was a terrible injury for GRC. hope the kid gets well
