Captian, with all do respect you dont know what your speaking of saying that the program of the pikeville panthers was in a steady decline from the time he took the job. Everyone that is a head coach has his or her own ideas and reasons for what they do and how they run their respective programs. Ask the seniors that just graduated that have been playing football for the past 4 years how many regional championships they have. The answer is 1 when they were freshman pikeville beat williamsburg in the regional finals. Thats the only picture of that senior class on the wall of regional champions in the locker room. Explain to me how the decline occured with coach Mac's 3 regional championships 2 other regional finals and over 11 allstate players that I know of in 6 years. People on these boards make comments of the progress PHS football has made over the past 3 years under the last coach and staff all I am asking is that someone explain to me what they are.

No disrespect to you either but in your previous post you said you were an outsider looking in. To an outsider looking in yes Mcnamee had a great run while he was coaching here but the ones in the know and have been insiders in this program for many years told me these down years were coming 7-8 years ago because of how he was allowing the LL program to be run. Im not trying to say hes a bad guy or a bad coach but the complete disaray he left the JR high and Little league programs in when he left is the example of why I dont think he will get hired again. The good things that Coach J did wont be seen here for a few years but the complete reorganizing of the LL and JR high programs are the good things folks speak of. IMO Mcnamee had a good run of athletes while he was here but had John Chapman or Hillard or another coach of the same abilties had the kids that Mcnamee had we would have a few more state title banners hanging from our scoreboard right now.
