This was sent to me by e-mail, and thought it was funny.

SOME FACTS TO PONDER :

(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is

700,000.

(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians

per year are

120,000.

(Calculation) Accidental deaths per physician

is

0.171

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of

Health Human Services.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Now think about this:

Guns:

(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S.

is

80,000,000.

(Yes, that's 80 million.)

(B) The number of accidental gun deaths

per year, all age groups,

is

1,500.

(Calculation) The number of accidental deaths

per gun owner

is

.000188

Statistics courtesy of FBI

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

So, statistically, doctors are approximately

9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Remember, 'Guns don't kill people, doctors do.'

What is your stance on waiting periods and background checks for handguns?

No questions about it, they are truly a good thing.

I agree with the background check. And the waiting period should just be as long as that check takes.

Good ones!

It isn't the guns anyway, it is the people that use them. And for those crazy people, if it weren't guns..... it would be something else. Like the matchete weilding school attack in Australia. At least with guns you can defend yourself!

Background checks are a must!
#15
I agree. Background checks are a very good thing. Guns are great inventions in technology and very useful hunting weapons. It isn't the guns that kill people, but the people who use them. I do think though that maybe there could be some sort of better laws in the U.S. to provide safer cities - where most of the deaths by guns occur.
#16
I AM ALL FOR extensive background checks and such HOWEVER i really hope that no one ever tries to take guns away from american citizens! I mean could you imagine the havoc that would insue?? I know that I for one wouldn't go done without a fight if somone came to my dore and tried to take the guns that my pappaw gave to me the day before he died!
#17
There was a reason that the founders of our country thought it was important to protect our right to bear arms!
