The Wildcats open up their next series in Lexington against the LSU Tigers on May 2nd at 6:30. Predictions?
#2
UK gets sweeped at home against the Tigers. 3-1, 12-5, and 9-8. Next game for the Cats will be tuesday against Wright State.

Kentucky is finally picking up some real big wins in the SEC... IMO, if they don't win the SEC tournament then they'll have to pick up a lot of conference victories to make the NCAA tournament.

For a team that's fighting to get into the SEC and NCAA tournaments, this has got to be a tough pill to swallow. They now drop to 11-13 in conference, and currently sit in a tie with Tennessee for 8th place (and also the last spot in the SEC tourney).

From reading the game reports on ukathletics.com, it sounds like the Cats could have easily taken 2 of 3 this weekend, but were victimized by a couple of questionable calls. First, they lose in 10 innings on Friday after an apparent "phantom" interference call wiped away the go-ahead run in the eighth inning. Then, they lose yesterday on a 2-run homer in the ninth, one batter after a 2-out walk (on a close 3-2 pitch) extended the inning.

UK had better kick it into gear in a hurry, or they're going to be sitting at home for postseason play.

It was a pathetic play. There was no obvious interference and the umpire thought otherwise. Carroll slid straight into the bag breaking up the double play and it was an automatic two outs. Coach Cohen had to come out twice or maybe 3 times during the first game alone. Strike zone was very inconsistent as well. Scott Green was crusing until the tenth came around. He had two outs and gave up 3 hits and 2 more runs. Should have had game one. Tough luck for Rusin. They should get a 'W' tonight against Wright State.
