What about those with high metabolisms who consume numerous cases of pop a week and don't gain a pound? Is the tax fair on them? Are we going to start charging different prices at the grocery store depending on a person's weight? Will some people get coupons and others will not?

This tax could be the most ridiculous thing ever.

While i think something needs to be done about obesity i don't think a tax will do it. People need to be made more aware. Obesity does however cost us billions every year in health care cost. Something does need to be done to off set this. I worked as a rehabilitation specialist and 90% of our patients were hospitalized due to obesity. I once told a woman she was obese and both the family and the woman got mad at me. They said i can not call her fat. I simply told them that i didn't say fat i said obese and with a body fat of 40% made her obese. Its a simple number. Either you are or your not. Most people don't even realize they are obese or worse morbidly obese.
