Concept: We are not born in equal circumstances. "To those whom much is given, much will be required. To those whom little is given, little will be required" (Jesus). For a society to not have anarchy, actions must have consequences, granted. However, to be all judgment, with little or no mercy, threatens a society as well. First degree murder, for instance, merits a long, long sentence, life included. However, to be a redemptive society, the murderer him or her self must be looked upon not as an object to hate, but a human being to understand. This is not an either or position.
