Boyle Co. 2 Corbin 0
#1
Boyle took a 1-0 lead off a shot that was deflected twice and rolled into the corner of the net with about 30 minutes left in the game. They then added the clincher with around 5 minutes left in the game after Corbin had to push players up to try and tie it up..

Corbin had 2 excellent chances in the 1st half with 1 on 1 vs. the goalie that they just missed on plus several in the second half that the goalie made nice saves on.

All in all, an evenly played game with the main difference being Corbin not able to finish near the goal. Boyle has a nice team with loads of depth as they subbed frequently without losing anything on the field and they were the fresher team in the 2nd half. A great season ended a little short of their goal for Corbin, but they have nothing to hang their heads about.

Not true....Corbin has ten seniors...most of them starters.

Corbin has 11 seniors this year with 7 of them starting. Five of their sr's have started since they were sophomores and one(center midfielder)has started all 4 years. They have some big holes to fill, but they have a strong sophomore class that rarely played any varsity at all this year due to Coach Cima being loyal to his older players(21 total juniors and seniors). Some kids will have to step up, especially in leadership roles if they are going to sustain the level they have been playing at.

Next year will not be as good a year for Corbin. They have a lot of juniors that didn't get a lot of playing time. That will def hurt them. Cima will have them ready to play next year but idk if they will be ready to compete. They are still in the toughest district in the 16th. And to SEKYFAN Cima may have made a mistake if he was beingloyal to the seniors. If that is true then who is to know if there was someone better on the bench. But they did win the region so...

Corbin will be good again next year, they have 2-3 players that will be real hard to replace, but they have 4 juniors who started this year and they have a couple of other juniors that started part of the year and are probably more skilled than several of this year's starters. There are 2-3 other juniors who are also good enough to possibly start next year. The sophomore class has 6-7 very good players who just need to get physically stronger and work hard during the offseason on their skills.

But they def won't be as good as they were this year. Be while before they get that good again.

You are probably right. I'm hoping that this group set the bar high and the ones behind them will strive to exceed it, but it is easier said than done.
