Losing to Minn., Wku isn't a winner either.

about the yankees yes everyone hates us because we normally win the difference between us and those sell-out yankees is our program is a dynasty because of passion not because of....."money"
There nothing wrong to want our boys to win every game and we know they can't and thats why we still have the biggest fan base in college. WE WILL ALWAYS BLEED BLUE!!!!
#37
That team that beat UK last year. They beat some school from the big 12 or pac 10 early in the season. You never heard nothing about that, but let a team like that beat UK ESPN will take about it for a week. Like that year Duke beat UK, they still talk about it..... But that game is one of the top 5 best games every..

What has Louisville done the last 10 years? Smile

They have had some good teams with Pitino but they have done nothing since Denny Crum was the coach.

each and every big school will have those bad couple year but i hate how no matter what if we dont win it we had a bad year

I love UK...I can't stand there fans though because of there unrealistic expectations of final 4s every year.

Aslan Wrote:I love UK...I can't stand there fans though because of there unrealistic expectations of final 4s every year.

UK fans don't expect a final four every year. everyone says that.
they get talked bad about because they always encourage their team to do the best.
UK has one of, if not the best, programs and the fans have a right to want a final four.
we understand that there is such thing as rebuilding, and that's what we're doing right now. Wink

That's exactly right, and you can add being radical to the point of almost to the point of being viewed as unintelligible. Add to the fact that a lot of people view the program as being nothing more than being a bunch of cheaters. Look how many times over the years that the program has been penalized. Even back in the 50's you had the point shaving scandal. Then you the Joe B. Hall era recruiting scandals, then the Eddie Sutton recruiting catastrophe that almost put the program under the Death Penalty for the numerous repetitive NCAA violations. Add the football recruiting problems as well. They have been placed on probation twice under both Curci and Mumme. It's easy to see why we are viewed the way we are and despised.

I could care less if they hate us. Were still the all-time winningest team.

That's certainly your right to feel any way you like, but the title of the thread asks "why we are hated". I just gave a few reasons why.

Truely, what makes the country hate us is the lack of knowledge from the common fan of our fanbase. UK's fanbase is amazing, seeing how many "fair weather fans" there are in this state. When credit is due, no credit is given. And when patience is needed, no time is given. The arrogance of the fanbase is because of our tradition and has made the common everyday fan think that if the team is not like 1996-98 teams the program is in a spiral. The whole country see us as too ignorant to realize when patience is needed and when improvement is actually taking place. If you want proof of ANY of this go on over to http://www.Catspause.com and look at the Rupp rafters thread.

I completely agree if you look back to the beginning of the year you will realize how much Kentucky has improved and the fans aren't allowing time for improvement I mean i've already heard people say they want to fire Coach Gillispie. IMO he is a great coach and will put the UK program back on track.

Consider the sources, most ESPN analyst played or coached in the ACC. Jay Bilas played for the '78 Duke team UK beat. Digger coached rival (at that time) Notre Dame, and **** Vitale coached Rutgers, and of course Bob Knight coached Indiana. Let's not forget about good 'ol Billy Packard who is the biggest UK hater of all time and ACC biggest fan.

No way, SEC is down this year so that means we will win atleast 20 games and were still ahead of UNC by 20.
