Lawrence Co. 2 - vs- Greenup Co. 0
#1
Lawrence Co wins a pitching battle... Chandler Shepard set state record for most scoreless innings pitched.. He broke the record in the 2nd inning...which almost was not after giving up a lead-off double. and ended up being the only hit he allowed all night.....but was able to retire the next 3 batters...Chandler ended the night with 11 strikeouts and only allowed 3 base runners which one was a strikeout that the ball got away from the catcher and walked one.... The record was 37 scoreless innings set by Greenup's big left from last year.... Chandler's scoreless innings pitched sit at 43 after tonights game....

Jordan Miller hit a two run home run in the bottom of the first.

Thats awesome. I hope he doesn't play football and take the change on getting hurt. He will be something special if he continues to work hard.

LOUISA — Lawrence County pitching sensation Chandler Shepherd snatched a state record away from Greenup County on Thursday night with another shutdown performance.

Shepherd, a sophomore, fired a one-hitter to stymie the Musketeers 2-0 and extended his streak of scoreless innings to 43.

Former Greenup County pitcher Tyler Hieneman set the old mark of 37 last season. But the Musketeers again came away empty-handed against Shepherd in a repeat of last year’s state quarterfinal game won by Lawrence County 4-0.

What's that article got to do with Shep throwing in the 90's "consistently" as you said?
Congrats on the record, tho.

What is so hard to believe that he throws that hard. I mean he was said to be the best pitcher in the state this year.

Congrats LC

Did I say it was so hard to believe? Nope. Jus didnt understand what that article Puffy posted had anything to do with it.
By the way, he was called the best pitcher in the state by a coach that he had just shut-out.
I think you take a consensus across the state from coaches that see the best on a regular basis, and he won't be the one they say is the best in the state. Best Sophomore, probably. Overall, no. Seriously, no. Not this year. Next year, who knows. Senior year, probably could be.
Again, good job on the record.

You put "UMM" like it wasn't true or something. And if you never saw him pitch then how do you know if he is the best. I'm pretty sure he played very well against those teams from across the state last year and did the same to them as a freshman. There will always be doubters and haters so keep up the good work Chandler and shut em up again this year.

Maybe because he knows what the term "consistantly" actually means. While Shephard can probably hit 90, hitting 90 and consistantly throwing 90's is world's apart.

Actually, I put "Hmmm..." like it was interesting. Dawgs need to lighten up. Everyone is not out to get you guys cause you had 1 successful season last year. Actually, I think most everyone around here was proud of what they did last year.
And.....Nope, never saw him pitch before. Never.

We have had more then one successful season
Sixteen seasons and counting of 20 or more wins. Pride and tradition are not words that are taken lightly at LCHS. Each year brings new challenges and high expectations. Every season, the Bulldogs know they have big shoes to fill.

Baseball? What's that? Never heard of it?
The one thing I know about LC is that they had a great season last year in baseball, so I don't know if it's because they have been absolutely horrible in every other sport for the past 10+ years and it went to their heads, but their fans have since then went on to cement the long-lived theory that they were the most disrespectful and obnoxious fans east of Lexington.
It ought to tell you something when guys actually dread going to LC to call any type of games because the fans are so irritating and rude.

#28
Did you really say 1 successful season??
#29
Hey that would be a good thread topic? "Most Successful program of all time east of Lexington?" I would say some people who be pretty surprised to learn what school that would be? I know I would want to know who it was.
#30
You and I both know who that would prob be. And they aren't in the 15th.
I'll give you the courtesy of starting the thread, since it was your idea.
