Rachel Alexandra wins Preakness

The matchup went down as billed at the Preakness Stakes on Saturday at Pimlico, with Kentucky Oaks winner Rachel Alexandra holding off fast-closing Mine That Bird to win the 134th Preakness Stakes in a hard-fought one-length victory.

Not surprised the RA won, but am surprised that MTB made this such a race. I Love that little horse.

MTB proved he was for real in this race. Musket Man also ran a huge race... he had to take up pretty bad in the stretch and still ran on to be thrid. Borel said Rachel wasn't as good on that track as she is a harder one... so imagine how good she really is.

She didnt seem to be moving great at any point in the race. Looked like she was working harder in the first 1/2, than she had anytime in her last 5 races.
