Billy the wino is at it again. The worst mistake in UK athletics history. Why is he still in Kentucky. .
#4
I guess this is no surprise
#5
If Landon Slone had hopes of playing for him somewhere else , I guess that just went down the drain. Cant see anybody hiring now.

Lol, this is his 3rd DUI, doesn't society usually want people locked away for life after a 3rd DUI?

They usually get a harsher penalty than Donte Stallworth.

He has some serious issues. I hope that this is his "rock bottom" so that he will get help and start his recovery and start living a life free of alcohol.

He must be a complete idiot. He is absolutly destroying his name off the court, however he'll end up coaching somewhere reguardless. Some school will take a chace on him. Sad situation, maybe he's trying to pull a Michael Jackson and relive some of his childhood with this bizzar behavior I not sure. Its time to grow up
move on and work his way back up. He is a good coach and has great knowlege and passion for the game. Some schools would do well under his system he just wasn't the best guy for the job at UK and wasn't ready for the spotlight and responsibility that comes with UK basketball. He has alot of growing up to do but He's better suited for small mid major program and personally wish him well. Hope things work out for him and pray he's able to rebuild his career before its to late.

So, from what I've gathered, Billy G was around Lexington because he's been trying to work out a settlement with UK. At the time of his arrest, he told police he had been out playing golf.

He refused a field test and a blood-alcohol level test and was taken in to the jail.

I think he just killed his settlement chances.

First Pitino has a total meltdown on national Television, then BCG gets a DUI for a 2 a.m. golf game, this is hillarious and sad at the same time!

This does not surprise me one bit.

This good boy from Texas is a joke.

Stuff like this keeps solidifying why we fired him as a head coach, because his actions were erratic, with bipolar Billy you never knew what you were going to get. But always drama. Not taking a breathalyzer or blood test, basically says guilty. Anybody know of golf courses open at 2:30 a.m. in Lexington? His passenger was also arrested for public intoxication.:beerwez:

^ Gillispie pleads not guilty to DUI, released from jail
By Ashlee Clark and Shawntaye Hopkins - aclark@herald-leader.com Former University of Kentucky men's basketball coach Billy Gillispie pleaded not guilty Thursday morning to driving under the influence.

Gillispie was arrested by Lawrenceburg police about 2:45 a.m. Thursday. Another man, Charles F. O'Connor, was arrested with Gillispie and charged with alcohol intoxication. The men were booked into the Franklin County jail about 5:20 a.m., jail officials said.

Hours later, Gillispie, 49, was arraigned via video from the jail, according to the Anderson County circuit clerk's office. O'Connor, 42, has not been arraigned, according to the clerk's office.

It takes a special charecter to coach at a Kentucky college
#21
Its really a sad story, as a recovering alcoholic I understand this guy has a sickness...He has made some stupid decisions in his life and he is lucky he has not hurt someone or killed them, he will need that 6 million now to try to keep him out of trouble...you know a Kentucky court is gonna hang the man.
#22
I say he needs 50 years..a month for DUI and 49 yrs and 11 months for making UK looking so bad
#23
A man that would come back to a state where 90% of the general populace hates his guts, driving a 2009 Mercedes with Texas tags in a rural Kentucky county with one of the higher DUI arrest rates has either got to be one of the most arrogant, dumbest, or drunkest individuals we have ever seen.

I also believe it was time for a change when Tubby left as he became stagnant at UK but many fans in Kentucky hated his guts because he wasn't as good a recruiter as they felt he should be. Tubby was probably one of the most ethical coaches we have ever had at UK. In Kentucky you have the following Foundations.

Tubby Smith foundation: Provides funding for agencies who assist needy children in the community.

Billy Gillespie foundation: Provides funding for needy drunks in the community

Rick Pitino foundation: Provides funding(and Viagra) for horny 50something sex addicts in the community.
