Is the Tanning Bed Tax a Racist Tax?
#31
vundy33 Wrote:lol...people, I don't know if it's where you've not been out of Kentucky in 20 years or what...

But, White people aren't the only people to use tanning beds. I know PLENTY of Black and Puerto Rican people (mainly girls) that lay in the tanning bed. Black people can tan ya know...
The question is not whether blacks and Hispanics ever use tanning beds. The question is whether the tax disproportionately impacts whites. The answer to that question is really not debatable. You will not find many tanning bed businesses operating in predominately black or Hispanic neighborhoods. A few quick searches of Googlemaps.com for "tanning beds" to compare the density of dots in innner city neighborhoods to suburban areas will demonstrate how much more common tanning businesses are in predominantly white neighborhoods.

Opponents of capital punishment always cite translations the substitute "kill" for "murder," although it seems pretty clear that their are instances in the Bible of justified killing. I generally agree with everything in your post but I do believe that coal mining should be regulated because of the potential damage that mining on your own land can cause to other peoples' property.

The federal government should only be allowed to regulate coal mining to ensure that bodies of water coursing through states are not substantially damaged. It should not be allowed to use the preservation of obscure species of insects or salamanders as an excuse to ban mining entirely.

Liberals are far more likely to want to tell you how to live your life than libertarians or conservatives. There is no greater intrusion in your life than attempting to control what you eat, what you drive, and what you do for a living through "targeted" taxation.

I concur for the most part. I do believe in regulating coal sensibly as I have seen property damage that is senseless. I hope this one party rule doesn't just keep swinging back and forth. Many of the intrusions we have had by Liberals is due to the fact that Democrats as far as House and Senate have been in power for longer periods of time then Republicans(in modern times). If the Republicans were to stay in power and have control for a long period of time, I believe you would see a more life controlling section in their party rise to power as it seems that the fringes of each party rise to power whenever they have massive control due to their stubbornness, narrowmindedness, and passion. Prohibition is an example. I think the country is ran better when we have a mixture of parties in control such as a Republican House and Democrat Senate. This makes more for a compromise to the middle and to common sense which is where, I believe, most people stand.

Of course, that's a fact.

But, I just can't see any racial discrimination in this tax...I'm so sick of this argument.

I believe, if I were you, that I would just go on to the next one then.

What is going to be taxed next? farting in public?

Captain Backdoor Wrote:What is going to be taxed next? farting in public?

Your not going to believe this, but in a way that is already in effect for livestock and dairy farmers. Cows are just like humans, they emit methane gas through their digestive system ( in other words they fart), just like they always have since the very beginning of time. Now thanks to these idiots in Congress and the EPA, there are taxes placed on these animals because of their emissions.

Now, do you see how really screwed up this country is????

How about you just stop starting ridiculous threads like this one then? You make all of us republicans look bad.

The reason we still have racism in this country is because people like you won't stop yelling racist. Democrats do it for black people and Republicans do it for white..

Crazy Republicans make the stupid argument like you have..."If this were the other way around though, would you liberalists be saying the same thing? Heck no, you would be hollerin RACIST, RACIST, RACIST!!!"

Racism isn't a political problem, it's a morality problem.

Believe it or not, that actually is a huge topic with earthers. They think if we ban meat, we eliminate the need for farm animals and their gases, not to mention people won't fart as much if they are vegetarians. I beg to disagree on the latter, at least from my experience. :devilflam

Methinks you are taking this a bit too seriously. There was a bit of jest, or at least "irony", in starting this thread. I took it as a bit of joke, because in the past week, everyone in America that questions this administration has been called a racist in one form or another.

You have to admit, that MY Democrat party, has used this card quite a bit in the last 50 years or so, all the while, making the most racist comments and actions as they go. It's just a wee bit of irony, imo.

Surprise, surprise, surprise, Gomer. The Right Wing Flirties commitment to "personal liberty" extends only as far as their on inflated sense of morality. Like I've said, what a bunch of phonies and posers and hacks. I'm supposed to be afraid of Barack Obama? Nah, I've got my eye on the "American Taliban"... true enough, they won't shoot you or hack off your hands, but they define "freedom" through a narrow lens... and they get to make the monacle.

I agree that you have nothing to worry about from Obama. If his popularity keeps sliding, I would not be surprised to see you get an offer to become an Obama Youth troop leader, assuming that the honor has not already been bestowed upon you.

First thing here junior, you're not smart enough to even figure out what I'm doing here. You just want to run your mouth thinking you know everything about everything. Got news for you junior you dont, and you consistantly prove it over and over. So I suggest that if what you are commenting on is as way over your head that this seems to be that you just shut up about it and go to another thread. Perhaps the Xbox threads would be more fitting and to your liking.

Secondly this thread was started as an example to show the political hypocricy that exists in this country and it was only my intentions to point out that there are political double standards concerning the RACIST RACIST cry that comes from not only the liberal media but the liberalist political agenda. I am not crying RACIST myself. I asked for opinions on this subject, and merely suggested that if it was the other way around you would hear the racist cry that has been demonstrated time and time again from the leftist sympathizers whenever stuff like this comes into play.. And I am 100% right.

Thirdly, I AM NOT A REPUBLICAN. I'm sorry that you have chosen to be one yourself.

Lastly junior, the next time you choose to mouth off about something I suggest you take a little more time analyzing the subject matter and how it's presented before you stick you foot in it as badly as you have this time.

Thank you miragesmack. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure any of that out. Vundy proves time and time again, that he needs to realize that he has a lot to learn, before he starts running his yap.

First of all, my name isn't junior. And I assumed you were a republican from your previous posts, I assumed wrong.

And how do I prove "this" time and time again? I post my opinion, just as you do.

Don't you get sick and tired of this argument though? I see it every single **** day on the news, and I think racism is almost non-existent. But, it has been a while since I have been a part of a normal society so I am a bit biased when it comes to these things.

I've realized after working with different troops and civilians from different countries that our own country is WAY behind when it comes to racism, gay's in the military and foreign policy, just to name a few. Can you kind of get where I'm coming from?

The Southern Poverty Law Center reports that since Obama's election, anti-government type groups of the sort McVeigh frequented have increased 250%. If a person can argue that race isn't a major factor in explaining this, he or she might argue anything. Are the Right Wing Flirties on BGR racists? I couldn't know; I couldn't care less. However, the suggestion that race based bias and hate have nothing to do with certain factors in "Obama is the devil" stuff... come on.

You talkin about that 50% white guy, that was raised by white folk?

I've never really been made aware of what color the devil's skin is anyways. Evil is as evil does, is my opinion.

What I get sick and tired of hearing is that anytime someones disagrees with this 50% white man's socialist's agenda, the race card gets played.
