Burns leaving UK baseball program
#1
Sophomore third baseman Andy Burns is leaving the UK baseball program.

Coach Gary Henderson confirmed that Burns was transferring, saying, "Andy is no longer a member of the UK baseball program. At the end of the season, both parties decided to go in another direction and we wish Andy nothing but the best in his future endeavors.”

Burns, a native of Ft. Collins, Colo., was a .279 hitter for his UK career, with 18 home runs and 63 RBI.

An Aflac All-American, Burns was part of UK's 2009 recruiting class that included five high school All-Americans, which ranked fourth-best in the NCAA.

Wish he would stay. Sad The University of Kentucky's baseball team has been doing pretty good the last few seasons, haven't they?

They have been doing pretty good. Nothing to write home about since that year that they won the SEC but they have been really good for UK standards.

They really havent been good since 2006, except for their injury-riddled season in 2008, when they made the playoffs. Every other year UK baseball has been left out of the postseason picture. Paint it how you want, but UK baseball is not doing good.

Also, the problems start at the top. Theres been a ton of stuff going on behind the scenes that people dont know about. Many compare Coach Henderson to a sober Billy Gillispie. Expect to see a few more transfers this offseason.
