Montgomery murder suspect escapes from Mt. Sterling jail
#1
Montgomery County authorities are looking for a man charged with murder who escaped from the jail in Mount Sterling.

Stewart Creekmore, 25, was reported missing at 3 a.m. Friday, said Montgomery County Sheriff Fred Shortridge.

Creekmore is charged with murder, fetal homicide and first-degree assault in connection with a July vehicular crash in which Henry Bush, 53, died. Police say Creekmore ignored a traffic signal when the vehicle he was driving struck a truck driven by Bush.

Creekmore's passenger, Stefanie Oatman, was 6 months pregnant but lost the baby after the crash.

Shortridge said Friday investigators think Creekmore escaped through the jail yard. Creekmore is described as a white male, about 5-foot-7 and 140 pounds with black hair and blue eyes.
