St. Henry has defeated DuPont Manual 4-2 in the girls’ soccer state semifinals here at Georgetown College.
Natalie Vaught and Libby Leedom scored for St. Henry in the first half. Abby Janszen scored in the opening moments of the second half. Manual scored 10 minutes into the half to make it 3-1, but Leedom scored after a long solo run up the middle of the field in the 63rd minute.
St. Henry advances to its first-ever state final 6:30 p.m. Saturday against the winner of tonight’s second game between Daviess County and Lexington Christian. The Crusaders are the fourth Northern Kentucky girls’ soccer school to play in a state final.
