Aaron Pettrey, a former kicker at Raceland High School, has been signed by the Bengals.

Pettrey was a four-year letter winner at Ohio State (2006-09), where he finished 29-for-39 on field goals (74.3 percent) and scored 173 points. Pettrey led the Big Ten in 2009 in scoring (72 points) and field goals (14).

Pettrey (6-2, 199) entered the NFL on April 30 of this year as a college free agent signee with Carolina. He was waived by the Panthers on June 17 and was signed June 30 by Detroit. He played in one preseason game for the Lions, missing a 42-yard field goal try and making one PAT, and he was waived on Aug. 17.

Because I am also a graduate of Raceland, this forces me to root for the Bengals just a little bit. I am sure the Raceland community is proud of him. BTW, there another thread on this as well.

As long as Pettrey scores all the Bengal points and still lose, I will be happy.
