Tobaccoless Dip
#1
Anyone try it? Pro's / Con's versus tobacco chew?
#2
Never heard of this? What is it? a pouch? Or what?

I've tried the jerky chew that comes in a can like skoal, but I end up eating it and then gettin a dip. I started dipping to quit smoking but now I'm stuck dipping and the tobaccoless dips just aren't the same. I wish there was a step down dip that you could use to kinda ween yourself off. You know like the way they do with the nicotine gum. My problem is I like it to well. I started dipping when I was about 8 or 9 and then moved on to smoking after high school and smoked for like 28 years before giving it up for the dip. You can say what you want about substituting one bad habit for another but I feel tons better and can actually breath now. It's my wife that stays on me to quit dipping. I kinda like it. Sorry about the rant it's just something I'm dealing with.

Good post, I appreciate the detail.

I've seen the ingredients for most and it's a combination of molasses and clover with some type of pepper added.

Stardust, I'm going to look for that and try it out. It sounds like it could taste similar to tobacco. I know that back in the day,at least, most chews were made with mollasses. So,I guess it could taste similar. Maybe I could use it like every other dip and cut down that way. Oh, and by the way,MustangSally, thanks for the compliment. Sheeesh.

I've only tried one, and it was called "Bacc Off." It was a huge waste of money. And yes, it was more expensive, at least where I bought it at. It was like $3.50+ for one can.

The taste was okay, it had that same wintergreen-ish type of flavor, but it was awful to try and dip. First, it was made with tea leaves instead of tobacco and I suppose that was the first problem. I tried packing the can but as soon as I went to pinch, the stuff just crumbled. It was impossible to pack it and actually get it to hold together in your lip.

I would say it's kind of like fine cut dip which I can't stand.

I do remember QQ was on here a long time ago talking about some kind of tobacco-less dip but I can't remember the name of it. I know it was Smokey Mountain something-or-other, and he swore it tasted just like the real thing.

Smokey Mountain seemed to be the most commonly search item, but you can't find it anywhere.

As for fine, I'd rather dip dirt!

Yeah, I think you can order it off of their website, but I've never seen it in a store.
