That's awesome. Mingo Central will have some tough programs IMO.

Like the "Miner" logo, Football stadium looks nice too... This school will hurt Belfry, maybe some of that talent will stay there instead of coming across the border.

Actually Belfry may see a slight increase in enrollment due to the fact that some of these kids will have to travel an hour or so to get to the new school. There will be some kids/parents that have to decide if they want the long trip or a short trip across the river. IMO the hiring, or rehiring, of Kinder still leads to many athletes looking for greener grass on the kentucky side.

I don't think so. They have a school they can be proud of over there with facilities second to none. Add to that Belfry's ACT scores are near the bottom in KY (Pikeville's near the top BTW) and you really can't argue that the "grass is greener" across the river. Also false that it's an hour to Mingo Central from anywhere in Mingo Co., and anyone near the river can get to MCHS in a very short period of time...spin it how you want, WV students really don't have any reason to attend Belfry and Belfry will forever more get less football players from West Virginia...

I don't think so, for a lot of reasons. No reason for WV students to go to Belfry with the new Mingo Central HS.

guess u didnt know some kids already transfered to belfry and tug valley because of the travel time and the fact that most people in the williamson area opposed them combining the schools mingo central should be a good school they will have to compete in aaa in football so good luck even though they stated out aa the enrolment is well over the limit

What's your problem with Mingo Central? sounds like you're just jealous. get over it. MCHS is awesome and when the kids get used to it, more and more will want to go to school there. (and play football). What's your problem with them anyway?

dont have anything against the school should be a very good school but alot of parents didnt want it to happen i think its just fine but its tough in aaa football in wv dont know how well they will do i wish them luck belfry will be just fine they have lots of kids who love the football program and the school
