De Lasalle 41 Cov Cath 14, Cancelled at halftime.
#1
Does this put any questions in anyone's mind considering Cov Cath hasnt played any good defenses in previous weeks?

Why cancelled at halftime? Heat?

Yes the heat index was 104 at 11:30ish. Can't really justify a second half with a score like this.

They said it was 107 on the field, and they have to call it when it reaches 104. I got there in the middle of the second quarter and it was 21-10, which someone had said it was even 14-10 at one point, but then it just got away from the Colonels.

Everyone will use this as an excuse to bash CCH, but LaSalle was good and very big, and the Colonels will surprise some people once they put it all together.

When they click as a team, they look great, but the defense needs to start showing up for games now to get ready for the Birds.

On this site and others, CCH fans are trying to make this game sound like it was a lot closer than the score indicates. Yes, maybe the O looked ok for them, but the D and special teams are part of the team and they need a lot of work. This team is far from HHS level, in my opinion.

Last I checked there was no De in front of LaSalle. It's LaSalle. There is a De LeSalle is in California. CovCath will give up 50-60 range against Highlands.

I thought CovCath would have issues with LaSalle's offense. It was just a matter of CovCath scoring the necessary points, which they couldn't do. Compared to the rest of the GCL this year, LaSalle is a step below. However, LaSalle in general is a pretty solid team

Was the came called or cancelled?

Called = game is over and goes as a W for LaSalle and an L for Cov Cath

Cancelled = game never played, thus either rescheduled or both teams get a bye for the week

I suspect it was Called, but just had to play on the semantics.

This game could have definitely been a lot closer. Cov Cath had the ball first. Their offense looked solid like they had the first two games. They got inside the 20, or around there, and Gray had a crucial fumble that La Salle scored on. This was a killer for Cov Cath. Big momentum for La Salle and what seemed to have put the nail in the coffin was La Salle's punt return for a TD. Cov Cath Special Teams needs to get to the ball faster when they are punting. Their punter did a great job getting the hang time, but the gunners just haven't been getting to the return man. La Salle has a lot of size which was key for them on their special teams. I think that they will surprise a lot of teams in Cincinnati.

From everything I've read and heard, this game was called and is a win for LaSalle.

LaSalle is by no means a weak team from Ohio. They my be 4th in their own conference with Elder, Cincinnati St. X and Moeller being conference game. Not many teams in the entire state of Kentucky could finish better than 4th in that conference
