Rockcastle County 2012
I was at scrimmage tonight and Rock didn't look great but not bad either. I think they really got a solid look at what they need to work on. I wish Rock would open up the offense with the spread. I know a coach from Somerset that could help them in the transition! ;-)... he might even live in Rock! Lol....Jj In all seriousness they were some bright spots but I think they will need to throw to win the tough games. Protection needs to be better for Corey and h is going to have to get rid of the ball quicker. The spacing with the receivers and all the play actions makes the high low progression reads difficult. He needs a few out routes from backfield to check to just to take some of the beating off him. I think team gets much better as year goes along as long Corey stays healthy. That first pass shows what he is capable of. He needs to have a shorter memory though, beats himself up too much of int's. I know he is a competitor but he will mature much quicker as he learns that! Receivers need to look ball into tuck and quit catching with chest and backs need to double skin the ball. Good thing is all these things are easy to coach up and Rock will get better with every game.
^I have said they need to throw a little more for over 7 years. I doubt they ever will. Even if you waste a possession by airing it out and nobody catches it, at LEAST you have let them know you will throw.

I remember one game about 2 years ago that Rock ran 15 straight plays. By the 8th play the opposing team had 10 in the box. Come on! lol

Rock definitely has the QB this year to do that. He has been learning and growing by going to all these QB camps and learning from coaches about being a QB. He is either a Sophomore or a Junior this year so he still has a lot of time to learn.

On Defense they need to do something bout the middle anytime they was a cutback or something the linebacker wasn't there, offense pass it more and figure out way to get the tough gritty yards with the power backs, but over all they be alright this year
How did the Harris kid from Southern look, the one with al the scholarship offers.
Idk but southern looks like they have real potential
surely he would stand out if offered from UT, KY, Mich, etc.

I went over just to watch him. He didn't play, had a sling on his arm like he had some kind of injury. Had his jersey on, but not dressed out. It was a bummer, I really wanted to see how good he was.
Talking to ms parent, Harris sep shoulder back couple weeks. #2 running back out for yr knee and #1 WR knee out for year. Injury bug has hit MS early, #24,47,44 are studs for MS.
thanks for the report
ROCK's schedule is similar to last season's.....it was a great season celebrating 40 years of HS football in the county. This year is suppose to be another good year heading in....7-8 victories, possibly state quarterfinalist...we have to see....ROCK's most notable game will be KC @ home this year because of two reasons giving it alot of hype, 1. it will be the 30th time between the two schools since first meeting back in 1977 which will be ROCK's longest rival in history and 2 it will mark the 215th home game @ the ROCK since 1975 and we have won 150 games their Wink there ya go!!!!
^Good to have you back Rocket01.
