What a game. Collins scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 7th to send it to extra innings. They left the bases loaded twice in extra innings before Shelby scored 2 in the top of the 11th. Shelby County played very well but Collins gave this one away, committing 7 errors and leaving 14 runners on base. It was one of the best high school games I've ever seen.

I have been saying a year that the errors would come back to haunt this team and it did. Collins is clearly a much better team than they showed last night. Give Shelby all the credit that they are do. Made plays when it counted and came up with the hits to get it done. It was an exciting game to watch in extra innings both teams was just trying to hold on and not make the big mistake.

There must be something in the water at Collins, because you could make the same statement about the Collins softball team, errors will kill you.

Collins baseball was out played and out coached. 2 years in a row having the best team in the region and nothing to show for it.

Sounds like the coaches were drinking from the same fountain, because the softball team was unprepared and under achieved all season it was a total embarrassment.

I agree. They were probably the best last year and clearly the best team this year. They wouldn't have had much trouble in the regional tournament, especially with it being at home.

The softball team did have a disappointing season. I expected a lot more out of a team that lost by one in the regional championship and returned all but one player. Their defense was very good last year and this year they had tons of errors every game. They would have won a lot of games if it weren't for errors.
