So....The (1) beside Southwestern actually means someone voted them no.1 in 5a in the state?

Yes... I presume either Southwestern's Coach voted..or someone lost a bet to Southwestern's HC

I'm a loyal SW fan, but they do not deserve to be in the top ten. I could see Pulaski County being in there, but not Southwestern.

If that comment is directed at Harlan County, I doubt there'll be too much stir. They did not even win the region last year. No one has anything to be stirred about. Those teams above HC went farther or are loaded with D1 type talent (Franklin). No complaints.

lol these rankings are hilarious as well.
The other ones that were posted had North Bullitt at like 6 or something.
There never gonna learn not to doo these preseason rankings.

HC is where we belong or worse, the other teams have a bunch coming back and tons of talent. They just have to prove it on the field.
Southwestern is the only team that should not be on the top 10 list.
Not a whole lot of problems cuz there are only so many 5A teams that are worthy cuz it is really top heavy class with about 8 reallygood teams.

SW is very young this year, and I really don't know how things are going to go. I hope they can live up to these rankings by the end of the year.

Southwestern got hammered by Montgomery Co in there scrimmage. 35 to 7 at the start of the 3rd quarter and every starter sat down. They only scored on a fumble recovery against the starters...Final score 35 to 27. There best back went down with a season ending injury in the first Quarter, and you have them at 8th in 5a Pleaaaaaseeee

Southwestern Pulaski won region last year.

It always cracks me up when they put in the "others who recieved votes" in these things now that KY football is watered down to six classes.
Hell, they almost listed every team in 5A.

And Pulaski County won it in 2009. Harlan County has won it once, in 2010.

Yes they have only won 1 regional title. But they have been close the last 3 years. Highlands was unbeatable in 2010 when they won the region. HC is young, but I expect them to be there again, competing for another regional title. I watched them last week, they will be good but not as good as the last 2 years. I don't think anyone in this district will beat them, but that is why they play the games. Bring it on. It's football time in KY!

Not meaning to ruffle Bluebird feathers, but wasn't that the year Ryle defeated them towards the end of the season? Still HHS was formidible that season but Johnson Central almost beat them with a last second drive.

I'm curious. How many regional titles has Whitley County won in school history?

Probably just the one in 2008.
