Lawrence 48 Jackson 8
#1
sloppy first half for the dawgs but pulls a W at home
great game by Lawrence's QB Aj Cyrus. Little confused on why #2 skaggs for Lawrence county seen the field 2 times on the offensive side of the ball?

The topic needs to be changed to indicate Jackson County. It could have been Jackson, OH. It's confusing. I had to look it up on KHSAA to know who it was.

Congratulations to the bulldogs on the win. The bulldogs rush for 370 yards on 40 carries. A.J Cyrus was named player of the game for his performance ( 12/120 yds rushing 4 yds, 2/6 78 yds 1 td passing. Bulldogs only allow 17 total yards in the second half. Good win guys, keep up the hard work and keep improving.

Listened to the game on the radio and heard the guys say that he was reading the defense and making the right reads at the right time. You get a cerebral QB like AJ to read a defense and make the right decision then nothing but good things will happen. I love the offensive scheme with this group. They can run it and they can understand it.

Yeah a.j did a really nice job of making the right reads and all the backs ran hard and chewed up a lot of yards. Still need a lot of work and I'm sure coaches know that but this is a good start for a young group. Ricky goble really got things going in the first half. And they did all this without their starting tailback

With belly if you get the FB started and get him going early and often then that just opens up everything else. You start that offense with your FB. If you have a smart enough QB ( like AJ is ) to key off his reads especially off of the intial read of the FB dive then that lets your speed backs open into C or D gap or if the DE pinches down allows AJ to keep and gain yards. Very happy for these guys!

Good job Bulldogs. Keep working hard

From the way it sounded, (cause I listened during the first half), this is going to be another LONG season for the Bulldogs. Sounded like a TON of miscues and overall bad plays from the offense. And to be a contender, you have to play 4 quarters of football. ON the upside, defense sounded solid, but we were playing a team that we were supposed to dominate ALL night and not for just one half. Our schedule is tough and the road ahead only gets tougher. Hopefully, with our youth, we can get things lined out in our offense and grow into a war machine within the next couple years. Good luck next week, Dawgs!

All the tailbacks r pretty even. Tonights starting TB was berry but i didnt even see him get the ball. Bryce skaggs has been running the ball well in practice and saw the field once with 1 run of 20 yards. I dont understand the logic as far as some of the choice of subs the dogs use.

Congrats to the Dawgs!!!!!

The LC Defensive Line needs a lot of work. The just let everyone get by them and everything is left to the LBs. On the other hand LC is finally opening up some offensive plays instead of the one play they always used last year. Go Dawgs!

Glad to see that the Dawgs got a win, it might be the only game they win.

I hope all of these young players that are on the team stay on the team and they can get a friend or two each to join the team next season.

There are some winnable games on the schedule, last year Lawrence played well against prestonaburg so who is to say they can't compete this year?? This team will continue to get better but the games that really matter are the district ones. Anybody can beat anybody on any given night, that's why they play the game

Glad to hear how LC played so bad. Give JC some credit. They played a good first half. If they would have been healthier they would have had a better shot. It was 7-8 with two minutes to go In the second half. Then LC scored before the half. I just think JC played better than LC for a half and no one wants to admit it.

I agree. The LC defense got a tad bit lazy in the 1st half. But there must have been some major butt chewing at half-time as the DAWGs only allowed 17 total yards the entire 2nd half. (Good thing they played 4 quarters) The LC defense needs some tweaking and will have it's hand's full against Prestonsburg.

Aj Cyrus had 5 touchdowns on the night, 4 rushing and 1 passing. He also had 120 yards rushing and I believe around 70 some yards passing. Ricky Goble also added another 100 yards rushing for the Dawgs, they play Prestonsburg next friday. It should be a better game than people think.

I don't know what to think about the game with Prestonsburg. PB beat a solid 5a team in Perry Central and they beat a much better Sheldon Clark team compared to last year. If the Dawgs come out like they did with Jackson things could get ugly. I can't see a way the Dawgs win this one but I hope they can keep it close.
