Johnson Central 22 Ashland 21(OT)

Up until this year I can't remember Ashland not going for 2 for 3 or 4 years until early this year when they discovered they had a great kicker in Patrick. It is ironic that that is what ended up costing us the game since that's all you heard around the fans was going for 2 is going to cost us a game at some point. And it happened at belfry last year. This year we kick the XP we get beat by the 2. It is what it is. Could have just as easily missed the 2 pt. They had him stood up looked like at the 1 or 2 an a good second effort and he's in. Game! Move on an prepare for the next game.

JC never made a PAT kick the whole night vs Ironton, I am not sure they even tried one and they hadn't tried a PAT kick in this game. IMO #28 is getting the ball on a 2 point play if it is to tie, win or lose. Coach Matney probably had a good idea what play Knox Central was going to run when he decided to kick vs them. Ashland's coach was faced with a much different problem,,, he had to stop a offense that has produced the states All-time leading rusher, same offense that set states single game rushing record from getting 3 yards and I will bet you the farm that he wishs he had went for 2 after the TD in OT.

^I heard Coach Matney say in the Post Game interview. That when he was huddled, for the 2 pt conversion, with his kids. He asked who wanted the ball and they were all like ME !

I like that! I want it coach....give it to me!

This game resolved who will get eliminated by whom. Ashland now gets eliminated by Holmes and Covcath beats the sausages(johnsonville).
