I made a thread about this in another forum... but you can never talk about Jesus too much.
Yes, Jesus is the Son of God.
Yes, Jesus was born to a Jewish virgin named Mary.
Yes, Jesus was crucified and died. (He Was Not murdered).
Yes, Jesus was laid in a Tomb.
Folks.... If that's all that happened, we'd be of all men most miserable. Cause their would be no hope for eternal salvation.
But on that first Easter morning, Jesus arose from the Tomb. After being dead for 3 days.... Jesus got up, the stone was rolled away and Jesus came forth.
(Acts Ch. 1; Verse 1-11 KJV)
Acts 1: 1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
Acts 1:2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
Acts 1:3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with [them], commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, [saith he], ye have heard of me.
Acts 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Acts 1:6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
Acts 1:7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Acts 1:10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven
He Didn't Stay Dead..... And Won't Stay Gone.

And one more thing.....
Yes, we need to be thankful and greatful that Jesus died on a Cross. That was probably the worst possible way to die back then. Jesus was not murdered by a Roman soldier, Jesus did not die at the hands of a Roman spear. Nothing happened to Jesus that He didn't already know about.
When Jesus said "It is finished", He gave up His own life. He knew that was going to be His fate when He came into this world.
However, we shouldn't celebrate the cross.
If Jesus only died on the cross still and He was still laying in the tomb, then Christianity would be like every other religion in the world and have a dead god.... and not having a True Living Savior.
The cross does represent Jesus death. But thank God, that wasn't the end and not what Christianity is about. So when we think about Jesus and Easter, remember Easter is about an Empty Tomb that Jesus once laid in. And knowning that Jesus will come back someday.

"The only man made thing is Heaven is gonna be the nail holes in the hands of Jesus"

I work in an enviroment where several religions are practiced.....
Sunni Muslims, Nation of Islam, Morrish Science Temple, Wiccans, Judaism, Catholicism, rastafarins, Buddhism, Odinism....
And they all strongly believe in their 'religion'.
The odinist use a picture of Oden, with a saying on it....
"Your God was nailed to a Cross, my god carries a hammer. Any Questions?"
The first time I saw it, I about lost my mind. But then I thought about how misled people are today. And how many people don't know what Jesus did for them.

Luke 24: 1-7
1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
That my friends.... Is what Easter is about. Every letter, word, verse, chapter and book of the Bible is important. But I Bolded the highlights of these 7 verses.
