Don't know how you can say Somerset is a pretender, unless you are saying they are pretending to be bad which I certainly hope they are. It is pretty transparent that they are not a legitimate threat at this point.

As of right now, my Breds are pretenders. The OLine is just not gelling. You can't rely on 35+ yard TDs for all of your scores. Eventually, you will have to put multiple drives together. Defense is slowly getting better.

The only two contenders in 5A are BG and JH. Everyone else is a pretender. And if JH doesn't get their offense in gear, it will just be BG.

I think so...

I may get a little lip over this but I do think on the offensive side of the ball that Fairview, Pikeville, Raceland, Williamsburg and Hazard have shots.. Defensive wise Hazard defense has gotten better as the season progress and also Raceland has a very good defense as well and Fairview as well. But Fairview and Raceland have some injury issues that may hurt them in the latter part of the playoffs.. I would put Pikeville on the list but there defense still has to get better and Im not sure it has just yet.. But if Pikeville can get that defense to step up then they are in the conversation as well but until then they are not.

I respectfully disagree! Harlan County is no pretender! They have played one of the toughest schedules in 5A! They will get a chance to redeem themselves against Southern or Pulaski. Both of whom they have beaten in the playoffs last year with virtually the same teams.

B/C anyone not named Bowling Green is a pretender. I know that you can't mail a team a trophy, but BG's name is already engraved on that thing. The team from the East is only showing up in order to provide money to the KHSAA through ticket sales.
