I will tell you this. Being a Lex Cath fan I don't think there was a better rivalry around than LC and Boyle County. I also don't think there is a better fan base than Boyle County. I hope they can keep it rolling in the future. Boyle Co has been a power house the last several years and like anywhere else its hard to stay on the top of the mountain. I think Larry French is a 5%. When I say that I think there are 5 or 6 coaches in the top 5% and he was one. I wish coach French great success in his new venture where ever it is. I always got and old school coach feel from him and his teams. We have fans that cant stand Boyle Co. but I always admired him and the Boyle Co. program. There have been some great games with French and Letton. A new era I guess.

Just wanted to take a moment and maybe let some of the Boyle County fans know a little of what kind of guy Coach French and his staff are. I havnt posted on here before but enjoy reading the board.
My son played QB at LC the last few years graduating last year. I really enjoyed the games (Sometimes) against Boyle Co Ha Ha. My son suffered a knee injury in the regular season game year before this last at home against BC. After the game which we won in a close contest. Almost all the coaching staff came up to me on the field and gave their condolences and they were heart felt. I will always remember how that made me feel and what a class act it was.
Another instance that showed me what a class group they were was Lamar Dawsons senior year. My son was a sophomore and we went to Boyle to play them in the region finals. Man what a game we lost by 10 I think but it was a exciting contest down to the wire. A few weeks later I was getting a highlight tape together that had been requested by some coaches and scouting services. That game had kind of been a breakout game for my son. The tape we had at LC was very poor quality and we couldn't use it. I called Boyle Co in hopes of getting a copy of there tape. I spoke to a lady in the front office who informed me that the coaches had just left to go watch Lamar in the Army All American game in San Antonio and wouldn't be back till after the Xmas break. I needed the tape out before then. Hour or so later my phone rang and it was the offensive coordinator from Boyle Co. Im sorry but his name escapes me. He was calling me from the airport where they were getting ready to board a plane. He told me that he had had the Secretary go upstairs and get a copy of the film and it would be at the front desk whenever I wanted to pick it up. I remember thanking him and he replied with. No thanks needed glad to do it anything we can do to help any of these kids we will do. Classic example of Larry and his staff. Class acts!! I will miss seeing Coach French, Coach Hester and the staff on the sidelines. I always said that was if not the best one of the top three or for in the state. We got the tape out and a few offers followed from it.
In closing I just wanted to thank coach French (And his staff) for being part of what will be some of the best memories for myself and my son we will have over his football career. A enjoyable four years for sure, always looking to compete against Boyle County. That was a different type of week leading up to those games. Good luck to Boyle County in the future great program, Great fans! I am sure you guys wont miss a beat.

If the staff stays in place, Jimmy Hoffa could be named HC and all would work. I think some folks under value the quality of the staff Larry had this year. I still think there is a chance of maintaining the bulk of the staff, as well as a chance of losing a vast majority of staff. Everything will come down to who accepts the job. Who knows, maybe it would be best to clean house They only won an average of 12 games/yr the last 6 years. With an all new crew they could probably up that number

groundattack Wrote:I only post what I know. I stand behind the comment he will apply and he won't get it and they will hire outside. While the coach they hire will be a good one, without the quality assistants that this program has enjoyed the program will take a hit.
Just have to say, I guess you missed this one groundattack.
