And if the defense was not very good then they would not have gotten that far.
I have a reason to feel the way that I do about that years group but if you give me some time I will research and tell you my true feelings.

take your time Midee, but heres why i think the way i do
russell relied more on the secondary in the stae game in 05. nick lewis led the team in tackles with 11 i believe?
06- belfry had 2 1,000 yard running back, dustin may and corey chapman. may had 14 rush yards and chapman had 0 in the semi final game. belfry was held to 31 total rush yards that game.
mercer county had a 1,000 yard back, corey jackson, and a 2,000 yard back, brandon ford. Ford had 14 yards in the state game. jackson did run for 133 but the bulk of that was off of 2 big runs. mercer was averaging over 500 rush yards a game and got held to 202 by russell. 202 isnt very good but against a juggernaut running attack with 2 fresh backs at all time thats pretty good.
going into the first fleming co game this year flemings running back, McIntyre, was coming off of 2 200 yard games. the Deils held him to 45
