I Rule The World Wrote:Players don't learn mechanics on their own. Tim Couch was born a great athlete, but he didn't learn how to see coverages or get his footwork down on his own. Mike Whitaker was a major influence on that part of his game. Coach Whitaker was no slouch on the field either, he was All-State on either defense or offense 3 out of his four years at Leslie Co. Then went on to U.K. and eventually to Eastern where he was an all american. Also played with the Patriots in the mid to late 80's. Pretty good QB with alot of knowledge for the position.NIce. Sounds like a pretty impressive resume to me.

Powell Co. does have goods things to look forward to. But they must remember that just because you get some of the best coaches in the state, that wont make you the best team. The effort and dedication this off-season must continue or you will cause Coach Whitaker to have his first losing season in a while. Im not downing on the Pirates but they must outwork everyteam that they play because it is not a giving to come out and win without working hard in the offseason.I've got a real quick question, Why doesnt some kids in the high school want to participate in football? It makes no sense. They participated in middle school but quit at the high school level.

The reason a lot of kids don't play in high school is because you have to work a lot harder. In middle school you play football in the fall and that is it. In high school, you have to be dedicated and work in the weightroom in the winter and spring, play 7 on 7 and practice in the summer while still working in the weightroom, and then you have your fall season (which includes working in the weightroom).
