Raceland @ Lucasville Valley (OH) 9/15/2017

The Rams are coming off of two consecutive shutouts and the defense has been playing lights out the past few weeks. Lucasville Valley is 1-2 but they should still be a tough opponent . The overall series between the teams is tied at 1-1 and this should be a good road game to test the Rams.

What does Valley return from last year? They were very young and inexperienced last year but had some very atheletic kids. They have a good history at always being competitive. Last year was the first year I have seen them struggle all season long. Just going by what we return vs what they bc could potentially have back, I would have to go with the Rams. But, with Two back to back dominate defensive performances and an emotional win over GC, the week off, topped off by playing in the "wrong side of the river" lol I don't think it will be a blow out.

I agree Scotty and I think Valley should be a tough test. If I remember correctly I think they had a good sized tight end that gave us some problems last year but I'm not sure what grade he was in. I look for Raceland to continue to play hungry but Valley should be a tough game and it will take a four quarter effort to win this one.

I watched Valley play Portsmouth online.

Raceland will have no trouble with Valley.

Hearing from those close to the program that Valley is way down, maybe even taking a step back from last year. Raceland needs to come put and get up early if this is the case. No over looking or slacking. That will tell me that this Raceland squad is ready to move foward and become a contender. Taking care of business early is the next step for the Rams.

Can't sit back and let teams hang around. That creates a bad habbit. With Somerset and Paintsville lurking, that can not become the case.

There have definitely been some heartbreakers from the Rams point of view in that game. The last games with the Tigers have been decided by 18 points with every game coming down to the final minutes. A month ago I didn't think we should even be in the same conversation with the Tigers but now I am starting to think that this team can come out and be competitive in that game.

But that is a while from now and we still have some tough games before we get there. I am not completely sold on Valley being a bad team like everyone is saying. Even if Valley is down it is still no easy task going to Ohio and coming back with a win. If Raceland goes over there thinking that they will walk all over this team then it will be a long bus ride home. Games like this always worry me because many times you will see a "bad" team play well and beat the favorite. I think our coaches will have them prepared and they should come ready to play but it won't come easy.
