I dunno why people get ate up by it??
I will share this only if you find it applicable or not.
Living near Tar Heel country and UNC, when I arrived here in 2000 I saw a bunch of shirts/caps from UNC that claimed 4 National Titles. I asked a guy wearing the had could he name them. So he named 1924 as a Helms Foundation National Title. It was awarded by the Helms people in retrospect but I'm certain it was deserved.
Of course I told him if he wanted to go that route UK could claim 9 (at that time) cause the Cats had two Helms Titles given for 1933 and 1954. He walked away.
I know UNC did what they did because of Duke's success and not wanting to take any back seat to them. Since their run under Roy most Tar Heel fans have dropped counting that 1924 title.
If Corbin wants to claim those 2 I see no reason why they shouldn't. I just think whether they claim 5 or 3; any person with a KY Football Knowledge knows the long standing tradition of Corbin football.

Iâm not stirring anything up, legitimate question because history intrigued me but what years are the KHSAA not counting for Corbin?
If a trophy exist for those years Iâd love to see it because they would be way cooler than the solid wooden crap that is given out know .

1955 and I think the other one was 1934?
Courier Journal/Litkenhouse awarded them the #1 ranking in the 1955 season. Hounds were unbeaten and beat a strong Danville team and probably some other very good ones as well.
1934 is not listed by Courier Journal but may have been designated by another group/organization.

Thank you hatz
Was under the impression another entity like khsaa existed and they were using them as claimed
So they are basing state titles as just #1 rankings at end of year?
Are there more schools that do this, guess mean who is claiming be 1952 championship or #1 ranking, just confused I guess

The other season was 1939. I think Paducah was "crowned" the champion that year but Corbin had a share of it. Back then the high school football post season was like the college football post season was before the bcs. There were bowl games played after the regular season and after the bowl games were played the AP voted on a champion and the courier journal "crowned" the champion. I think it was possible for there to be a split title because of the process by which the champion was chosen. Now this is a mix of what I've heard, research. and some assumption. I honestly don't know with certainty. I wish either one of the old redhounds that knew or one of the relatives of such a redhound could shed some light on it. I want to know as much as anybody. Either way, we have five state championships and are going to play for a sixth in a little over 24 hours. I for one can't wait till the game starts. As far as the people who try to discredit the accomplishments of the guys who played before they were even alive, it's best just to remember that haters are gonna hate.

I could be wrong but I thought Ashland used to put them on their board somewhere. Probably Manuel, Male and some of the older programs.

Look it really don't matter. Enjoy your 4th championship Friday night.
