Latest AP Poll 3A Top 10

FoSho Wrote:A wounded Boyle will have to travel TO Belfry, TO Corbin and then VS Central in Lex to win #9. Bring it on! 😜

Looking forward to tailgating with you in round 3. 😎

Looking forward to it my friend. Win or lose, it will be a great atmosphere and should be a good game, I hope! Lol! Looking forward to meeting some of my buddies on here from Boyle. Most of you, from what I can tell on here, are great people who love high school football just like me. We all have our rednecks but we cant control that. Good luck this Friday.

For all of you people that are thinking Corbin is no longer in the discussion you are way off base. They have some issues (we all do) but they will hard to beat come playoff time.
#63
Not sure if it impacted the Caldwell game results, but Tilghman had two key two-way starters who were injured and did not play. Not sure when they will return.
#64
Tilghman will get a rematch with them in the 3rd round. I think they are easily the best 2 teams in the region. We will find out then if those players made much of a difference. Caldwell will get home field, but they haven't had much success defending home field for the regional championship. I think the winner has a good chance of beating Central in semis, but if one of these 2 makes finals they would be a big underdog, but both has had some success in the finals as underdogs just ask Danville, and Somerset. I don't expect Caldwell, or Tilghman to raise a state championship trophy at seasons end, but I wouldn't be completely shocked if one of them did.

Kinda agree with you killbilly. I think either can play or maybe beat Central as you have said. I for one would be completely shocked if either won the state championship though. Stranger things have happened and there's been a few times where things didn't go the way they were planned and an underdog was the one left standing. We'll just have to see what happens. But I do agree, both teams have the ability to go toe to toe with Central in the West.

Many underestimate Central in past, better be very careful.

I think that Powell is definitely a top 15 team but i have to agree that bath has a case to be number 10

Didn't Western Hills beat Bath this year pretty badly?

Injuries are apart of football. Seems like I remember Caldwell being down their leading tackler last year and beating PT anyways. I bet almost every team in the state right now has some key injury, maybe more. Good teams still find a way to win. Lesser teams use it for excuses.

Corbin was beaten soundly by Mayfield. Belfry lost a close one at home, without their starting quarterback, to Huntington. Huntington is better than Mayfield IMO. The best part is regardless, it will all literally play out in the end.

I agree with you on this. Belfry's one loss was close and to a WV Power with D-1 Talent, coupled with a dominating win over the #1 team in 1A on their home field has put the Pirates where they are.

Belfry still has 2-3 very difficult games ahead of them. They will host WV Powerhouse Cabell Midland on 10/5, @ Lawrence County on 10/12 and @ Johnson Central on 10/26.

Never underestimate Central.....Too much athleticism....too many kids to choose from. I’m sure by November they’ll be a hard team to handle.

You may very well be right I’m sure they will improve between now and November but I still don’t think they will have enough to beat whoever comes out of the east. Time will tell, and it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve been wrong.

I'm not sure if the players out would have made a difference after watching the game last night. Tilghman ran it at will. Tilghman got behind early, because of empty drives. Turnovers, and penalties was there problem. When they didn't get behind the chains Caldwell couldn't stop them, so clean that up, and I like their chances to score a few more times, but if they don't find a pass defense they still might not beat Caldwell.

In regards to Caldwell, I don't know that I can ever remember a team (let alone a Region Final team from the year before) that returned every offensive starter & also added another in DeEric Hollowell (who had been with them I believe through MS and/or maybe his freshman year & then moved, but is now back). He's just explosive as the Riley's.

Ahh let them keep doubting. It or the loss to MF doesn’t really bother me that much I don’t know of a team 4A down that would have beat them last week. They were clicking on all cylinders and it showed. Not our best game, that could be due to them or something else, I’ve got my opinion but it doesn’t really matter they beat us. One game doesn’t affect our season nor determine it. I hope they drop us out of the top 5 to be honest. No one gave us a shot to beat central last year and it didn’t work out for them. Once we get healthy again we’ll be ok. I just hope we stay in the “back of the room” for the rest of the season. Out of sight out of mind. It’s the kids in the back that raise the most hell hahah.

There's several teams I have questions about. More why they aren't getting more consideration for the Top 10. I know nothing about Powell, but, do know they lost to Bath Co, so, why is Bath Co still below them. Bardstown is having a solid year, but, I haven't heard anyone even mention there name as a possible Top 10 team. Has ETown fallen that far that they aren't still worthy of consideration. I know they've taken it on the chin a few times this year, but, it's been against quality teams. Western Hills looks like another team that should be getting some consideration, possibly even Trigg Co.. I would have said Lawrence Co, too, up till last weekend when Paintsville beat them, not so much now.. Are any of these teams I'm mentioning getting a little underappreciated or are they just not very good and hiding behind a weak schedule..

This is awesome! You're right, kids in the back usually are the biggest hell raisers! Hahaha! Corbin will be fine brother.
