Martin Co. 56 Betsy Layne 12 Final Per KHSAA.

Cards rolled in this one. Sophomore running back Kolby Sparks paced the cardinal ground attack with 165 yards and two TDs. Juniors Branson Smith and Logan proctor both had big a big night on the ground as the cards racked up over 400 yards total offense. Senior Ethan Smith Mills found pay dirt twice one through the air one on the ground.

Betsy Laynes offense couldn’t get much going. A muff punt inside the 20 lead to their first score. A couple nice broken plays by QB Mims lead to their second threw the air. Prayers that he is okay he went down with an injury to his arm not sure on the extent of that. Kids has a bright future ahead of him.

Congrats to Martin County

Congrats to the Cardinals

Hopefully Mims injury isn't serious. Is James DeRossett the defensive coordinator again this season for Besty Layne? Congrats to Martin County on their victory.

May be a good year in Martin Co. with the new school they may be able to keep some of there great athletes at home rather than transferring to local schools to neighboring Johnson co.

Congrats to the Cards!

This one was bad. Bobcats couldn’t tackle a scarecrow. Martin County ran through arm tackles all night. It looked like we didn’t know how to tackle.

I’m very thankful as a Betsy Layne hopeful that Mims is okay. But injuries are just going to continue to happen if we don’t figure out a way to protect him. Lineman spent most of the night turned around watching Mims get tackled.

We’ve had enough good players leave. How about letting us keeping some. We’ve been a feeder school for high schools dating back to 2013.

The Bobcats are def much improved. They have some nice pieces. As I look at their schedule I def see a few wins in there, if Chase Mims is healthy. Good luck the rest of the season!
