Leslie County just got manhandled on the front line by Clay. Spurlock went out again with another shoulder issue. The LC offense that was explosive the first half, fizzled the second half because the line got tired and were dominated by Clay. Kudos to Clay for letting a special needs kids from LC have a TD moment at the end of the game (note, it didn’t reflect in the final score).

Congrats to Tiggers

Leslie has the potential to win some ball games with that offense. They have a couple really good playmakers. I thought the Tigers missed a couple scores early on by holding onto the ball a little long; when he lets it to Hacker is pretty accurate. The Clay defense locked in in the 2nd Half. We are thrilled in Manchester with the start so far and district play starts next. There’s not a doubt in my mind that Clay can’t be the #3 seed (huge progress for us).

Kudos to Leslie County on a heckuva game. Brings back a flood of football memories for this old Tiger. Preston Spurlock is a game-changer. Kid is a STUD!!! I hope and pray he can get lined out soon and back on the field. Also have to tip the hat to the Clay linemen!!! They kept going to work play after play and imposed their will (especially in the second half). Three-headed monster of Hibbard, McCulley, and Meadows ran hard all game long! I feel the keys to victory were the coaching adjustments made at halftime (first and foremost: defending the screen pass) and the two HUGE interceptions by sophomore, Adam Collins. Glad to be back home Friday as we open district play with Harlan County.

Very proud of this Clay County team, they have worked hard to get some wins, I can see a possibility of about 7 wins this year, roll Tiger!

Leslie could not find a linebacker to replace spurlock all night and it showed but Spencer Napier showed up to play ball I’d say he had close to 30 tackles and before spurlock got hurt he was gonna be right there with him because he seemed to be at the ball every play these two are amazing to watch

I don’t know if many teams can find a linebacker to replace Spurlock, that guy can play ball.

What about them Tigers! Nobody on here predicted the Tigers to roll out of Hyden with a W. Big win for the black and gold!
