Corbin's opponent in Cumberland Falls Pigskin classic?
#1
I saw where Tennessee won't be playing football until mid to late September. With Corbin scheduled to host Knoxville Catholic in the Pigskin Classic, that game on the schedule is now open. Is Corbin looking for anyone to replace the Irish or is the game cancelled?
#2
With Highlands set to play Notre Dame out of Chatanooga, that game is likely cancelled too. Will Corbin and Highlands just play each other instead? That seems to be the simplest solution to the situation.

At this point, I don’t see any August games being played

I wish it was different but with what we’ve got in Frankfort I don’t see any high school ball being played at all!

You got to love the hounds and I'm 100% behind Greer he's top notch... They are practicing daily wide open going through plays working out and getting ready to knock heads and posting pictures of it all daily. I'd hate to be some of these little sheep schools, cowering to the COVID excuses, and have to meet the hounds in a few weeks on the gridiron. Turn them loose now, let them do what they do, and start the season on time. Rona has to run its course, no other way to defeat it.

Going through plays? Is the state allowing that yet?

I’m guessing this is posted in sarcasm.....because nothing other than groups of 9 or less .....conditioning only is allowed at this point. I believe you can start doing a “few” other things this week....larger groups....and begin positional stuff.....but not currently.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but, yes you can run plays, just can't use a football, no contact, or wear any equipment. I have heard that the Govenor is supposed to speak again this week on fall sports. Almost sure when he does the season going to get pushed back, still to many unknowns about going to school, sports is kind of secondary until they get that figured out.

I'm pretty sure starting on June 29, you could start bringing in 50 or less, not 100% on that

I don’t think so.....but I could be wrong. I know where I coach we are not .....

Can’t really even us a football unless you are constantly sanitizing the ball. Ex....QB can throw the call to 1 receiver. If more than 1....then the ball has to be sanitized after every throw. More work than it’s worth

You could bring in 50 but still had to be divided into groups of 10 players or less. Groups can not work together. Time is supposed to be used for conditioning and weight lifting. No simulation of plays is allowed. This is the rule until at least July 12th.

Per KHSAA:

Segment 3
June 29 to July 12 (unless further altered by the Governor or the KHSAA Board of Control) - KHSAA member high schools and affiliated middle schools
NOTES
• Additional guidance and accommodation for competition in all sports and sport-activities is likely forthcoming
SEGMENT PARAMETERS
• All activity on a member school (or affiliated middle school) campus must be approved by the local board of education
through the Superintendent of Schools and in consultation with the local health department.
• All published social distancing guidelines should be required if such activity is conducted and all references to Social
Distancing shall include the CDC guidance as well as the Governor’s guidance contained in the May 22 Youth Sports
Guidelines, and any locally supplemented requirements
• Coaches may conduct activity that complies with the Governor’s Youth Sport Orders for this type of sport.
• All involvement by students is voluntary without repercussion for failure to attend
• No activity can be a condition for inclusion on a future roster
• Competition or simulated competition cannot be conducted
• All activity may not simulate game competition, including variations in the number of players per side.
• Sessions must focus on skill development and general conditioning as well as instruction without game formations
• Sessions may focus on weight training provided the guidance for weight training rooms is compliant.
• During this period, all groups should be compliant with the guidance for groups of fifty (50) or fewer, online at
https://bit.ly/2XUMiUt.
• All coaches should be instructed to wear cloth masks/face coverings at all times in the presence of students and maintain
social distancing guidelines at all times.
HIGH-TOUCH SPORTS NOTES
• Groups of fifty (50) or fewer are permitted, divided into subgroups with no more than eleven individuals (10 players and
one coach, 9 players and 2 coaches, etc.).
• Shared equipment is permitted in this segment per the guidelines, but with frequent sanitization
• As feasible, if individual opportunities are desired for passing, receiving, kicking, etc, the athlete should utilize their own
ball or should be assigned a ball to be used by that player and only that player for the entire session (and sanitized
routinely).
• This period is specifically low-touch, medium sharing per the guidelines and as such, there is only minimal, necessary
physical contact permitted between athletes, or between coaches and athletes.
• All individuals must avoid physical contact with others including high fives, huddles, or other close contact occurring
before, during, or after activities unless the contact is for the purpose of safety.
FOOTBALL NOTES:
• For football, contact with other players is not allowed, and there should be no use of tackling dummies / donuts / sleds.
• No rules specified protective gear (helmets, shoulder pads, extra required gear) may be provided to student athletes.

Smaller districts and schools will struggle with these requirements. You will see a lot of smaller schools decline to have football this season. Not sure how or who is going to enforce and make sure these guidelines are followed. Cannot see any superintendent or local board willing to take this chance. Remember it only takes one positive test result.

No sarcasm here, maybe all there was at practice was nine, I didn't count, they were wearing mask but not 6 feet apart, some schools like cCay have been shut down because of a small increase in rona numbers. Serious as a hear attack I like the way the hounds roll, I don't want my tigers to play them because they have a program.

I suspect every game will be cancelled so ultimately it doesn't matter.

From everything I continue to hear....I’m afraid all August games are gone at the very least. However.....is any one else hearing spring football is gaining traction?

KHSAA Needs to come with a plan, no matter good bad or ugly; so much goes into getting ready for a football season, from getting fields ready, fund raising, practice you name it. I'm blown away by the fact that they aren't seriously considering flipping the spring and fall sports seasons around. I for one don't think playing football in spring, then coming back in fall would be a big deal at all, basketball softball and baseball play non stop year around and it doesn't hurt them. I think Mr. Tackett is waiting to make a scape goat out of Trump or Andy
#19
If it looks like football can't go in the fall, it seems the only option is to flip the seasons. As much as I hate change, isn't that much better than not playing football at all. Baseball and softball would be fine to go in August with summer baseball and Little League going on around the state at this point.
#20
You'd think flipping the seasons would be an obvious option, decision needs to be come soon so preparations can start. Or would this make way to much sense for the KHSAA to consider.
