Corbin vs Ashland Blazer
#1
The young Corbin squad has a tough task ahead of the Friday when they travel to Ashland. Ashland has played a powerhouse schedule so far and their record doesn't indicate how good they are. Liberty signee Zander Carter is their best player and a top 5 player in the state. He had 25 on the Redhounds in Ashlands 63-59 defeat last year at Corbin. It will be interesting to see if the young Redhounds respond to the smoke I'm sure the Tomcats will bring. Corbin had 3 guys step up in last years win. Pietrowski had 15 and 7, Zander Curry 15 and 11 and Ryder Akins had 14 and 6. Im sure they will miss Zander Curry and his intensity immensely this game. I can wait to see how it pans out.

Should be a dandy. I don't really know anything about Corbin except for their schedule, but Ashland is going to be tough to defeat at home. I'm hearing they could be adding a couple of key players that have been out as well.

Probably won’t be close at Ashland. Corbin is so young, Ashland will win this one big! They are pretty good after a couple close losses in the midst of a strong schedule….

I don't see it being within 15 pts but with basketball you never know. One kid can get hot and shoot you into a game and vice versa. I can guarantee TP will have a good gameplan, other than that who knows

If the Hounds are shooting lights out they can hang in this one. TP knows how to keep his team in games that they should lose bigly. I've seen it many times. Having said all of that, the Hounds have not shot the ball well this season, they have to make the long trip to Ashland, where some still feel the embarrassment of the football game. This looks to be tough assignment for my red canines.

No embarrassment on this end, just respect. Corbin had an excellent football team and Ashland just folded. A learning experience, especially for their young bunch of lineman. The Tomcat basketball team has not been at full strength all year. When the point guard and the other potential starter get back and in basketball shape they will make some noise. When the shots are falling this team looks like a final four type of team, when the shots aren't falling not having a true point guard makes them look average. No disrespect to Zander Carter, he has done an excellent job taking on that identity and the experience should help him at the next level. Also...if you're not making the road trip be sure to stream the game for free on MyTownTV.

Ashland wins by several.

Ashland slicing and dicing the Hounds, as expected. 40-26 Cats at halftime. Hounds better "ball up" second half or they'll get embarrassed.
