Final from Estill County.

Lady Dores will meet Lady Engineers on Monday.

I think Estill will have their hands full with Perry Monday.

Perry puts Estill away in 5. They can’t hit. Perry will have ZERO problems hitting Estill.

If both teams play like they did in the opening round then I can see it getting ugly.

Common Opponents:

Breathitt County
GRC
Madison Central
North Laurel
Southwestern
Wolfe County

Perry (4-2)

12-2 W vs Breathitt (at Estill)
4-2 W vs North Laurel
6-4 W at GRC
8-0 L vs Southwestern (at Somerset)
12-5 L vs Madison Central (at Somerset)
8-5 W at Wolfe County

Estill (5-2)

13-2 W at Breathitt County
5-4 L at North Laurel (Estill led til late)
5-2 W at Wolfe County
18-9 W vs Wolfe County
8-0 W vs Southwestern
6-4 W at GRC
11-0 L vs Madison Central

I think if Bella Rice is on her game she's gonna be hard to hit.

Either way it goes I do believe the region champion will come out of this game.

I feel like Hazard and Letcher both are better than Estill from what I have seen. Any them 4 teams could win it. Estill does have a chance though. Will give them that. Anything could happen during the flight to Irvine for the other 3 teams flying out of the country.

I agree with you duke. It’s a long way to Estill from letcher county. It’s hard to justify them being in the same region as the rest of the teams.

Estill is on the border of three different regions. 10th, 11th and 14th. The two closest schools to Estill is Madison Central and GRC. The rest are about an hour or longer away including the Berea schools and Montgomery County.

I think the 53rd district is closer to the 15th region teams than they are the 14th region teams.

Hazard/Perry is only an hour away from Estill. About the same distances as it is from Estill to any of the Lexington schools and Scott County/Great Crossing.

People talk about how far a drive it is to Irvine and that they should play in a different region but fail to realize that those schools that is too far from Irvine also play the bluegrass region teams, such as Wolfe, Breathitt, Hazard, Perry.

Letcher is only a 2 hour drive. That's about the same distance from Estill to Frankfort which is an 11th region school.

Estill to Bourbon time varies depending on what is being drove and what route is being took. If its through Winchester and across the parkway then it's about an hour drive. If through richmond and I-75 then it'll take longer. Trust me I drive that way quite often for work.

No offense to anyone and apologies if anyone is offended. Just stating my own opinion

You’re really stuck back in time if you think it’s only an hour from Perry to Estill. It takes longer than that to get to Powell county.

Well, hopped in car yesterday I’m Hazard. Was 52 miles from my house to Campton. Drove 20 more miles to Stanton. Drove 10 more miles to Mount Sterling exit and 8 more to Estill High after that. Absolutely terrible roads from Hazard to Campton. Finally make some decent time when I reach civilization past Campton. First 4 lane highway. Took me about 2 hours. I couldn’t imagine living in Whitesburg or Jenkins. Good lord. Cry me a River I guess but come on common sense says the region is to vast. Help the working man.

And just want to say Estill always runs a great job. Just wished it was closer. Awesome atmosphere.

Well about an hour and half. Pretty much same distance to any of the 11th and 10th region schools.

Closest Lexington school is Henry Clay and its right at an hour away.
#12
Letcher to Estill is 2 hours.

Probably right around same distance to Knott.
#13
Have to drive 2 hours to one regional tournament game??? An hour should kill it. 3 trips if you go all the way to finals . 6 hours of driving. Total Stupidity. This isn’t Texas.

Move the 53rd district to the 15th region. They're closer to them anyways.
#15
No difference in Estill ti Frankfort (Frankfort Franklin Co Western Hills) are about two hour drives and they are 11th region teams.

Estill to GRC is about 40-45 minutes. Same distance to Madison Central.

Like I said Estill is on the border of 3 different regions with them being a perfect fit for the 14th.

I guess its okay for the eastern ky schools to play the bluegrass region teams but because estill is a member of the 14th then they catch all the backlash.
#16
How close is Estill to Richmond and Berea?
#17
Estill to Madison Central is about the same distance as it is to GRC. About 35-45 minutes.

Estill to Berea / Madison Southern is about an hour or so.

Like I said I was just throwing in my two cents. Didn't mean to ruffle anyone's feathers.
#18
No feathers ruffled SK. Respect your opinion. Good luck to you guys today.
