Why would Larkey not play his best players? NL was definitely not that much better than SL. SL could have easily won the game if not for turnovers. This was a 1 point game. I will say it again, Larkey was not holding anything back.
NL is not taking Corbin lightly. NL did not play several of their usual starters except in limited capacity. Corbin will see a lot more than South, and it will not resemble Rockcastle.
Close games and goal line defense can define a team. NL answered both questions against their rival South. Corbin is in for a real contest but please continue to ignore NL's ability.

I really like North and their coaching staff. They are without question good for the program and will have the Jags going in the right direction. Will they reach the level of Corbin, Bell, Breathitt, and Belfry when it comes to mountain football? Probably not. They will be a solid program though. I see no reason that they couldn't have a program like Perry Central with a few extremely good seasons.
As for this Friday night, I'm not saying they have no chance. Every team has a chance but Corbin is on a different level than North and should win this game by 17-24 points if they play Corbin football. Again, I'm not saying North shouldn't show up and Corbin definitely shouldn't chalk down a W. I'm just being a realist. North doesn't have the speed and with Quan Weaver of Frankfort being out, Corbin likely has the states best running back in Watkins. The kid from Breathitt is a beast but Caleb is much faster and equally as strong.

Was it Fritz or Watkins that had the knee surgery?

Fritts had knee surgery. He seems a little tentative.

When a team gets a taste of winning anything can happen. That might make this game very good. I say good luck to both teams.

Corbin has the clear advantage in speed, and that is what will be the difference. North does have an advantage in size which will give the corbin defence a problem, But the old ball coach at corbin has had alot of success coaching vs. the rock defence...The one thing that hurts this defence is if you have better athletes than they do. Thats where corbin will put there playmakers in positions to make the big play..
Good luck to both teams..:redboxer:

In my opinion Coach Larkey has turned in the best coaching performance in East Ky to this point. With that being said I think this will be a hard fought game with Corbin coming out on top, but would not be surprised to see North pull the upset.
